Trillian 5 pissing me off

So like a dumb ass, i patched trillian which updated it to 5. Issue is I get flooded with adds from the damn thing, and the only way around it seems to be to pay for the premium version (fuck that). Is there either a crack to remove the adds or a way to revert to trillian 4 so I don't get shoe advertisements popping up from trillian or random crap in my IM conversations?

Willing to consider a change? I've been using Digsby for awhile now and love it, they have ads (but you can opt to turn them off) and no IRC functionality, but I like the interface a lot better.

random question, did they ever fix trillian so you could direct connect to people for file transfers n' such?

I remember like forever ago (5+ years at least) it didn't which made me stop using it. But I loved their layout, so if they fixed that I would love to go back to it.

Yes, my common sense told me to google "trillian 4 download", and i found numerous sites to donwload it from before posting.

I tried Pidgin and Digsby, and have moved to Digsby for the aforementioned annoyance with Trillian. I tried reinstalling 4 and it still came up with ads. I use a high contrast theme in Windows, and Pidgin doesn't properly follow it, it still uses a black text color on my black background, so I can't read incoming messages. Digsby overrides the Windows theme with one from its set, and has a high contrast theme built-in.

And if you know anything about trillian, as I found out (I skipped 4) it has adds as well. I'd rather avoid going to some random virus infested website for a 6+ year old installation file that may or may not do horrible things to my computer. So yes, common sense and brain cells, do you have it? Or does your tin foil hat interfere with that.

As for others, I'll take a look at digsby and see how that goes.

If you decide you want to stick with Trillian, there's a crack on TPB for the latest build. I've been using it for about 3+ months now and it works great.
