Leves after 1.18

So they adjusted leves. I hear the exp from them suck now.

Is there any reason to hold onto and cancel Dunes/Ranine etc etc or should I just finish them from now on for the SP bonus at the end?

The bonus is pretty decent with max linking and timely completion. Most of the QQ you will hear is from solo'ers stuck doing it the old way (max stars for max SP per mob). It's still not as good as it was pre-patch though, nor should it be.

No reason at all to hold on to leves and cancel them. Your main chunk of SP is from completing the leve.

I solo my leves and I like the new system better. I don't spend hours killing Necrologos mobs for mediocre skill anymore. I get better exp/hr (less exp/leve) by blasting through it and not spending my entire day on 8 repetitive leves.

Members of our LS have been reporting good SP gains via just soloing 40 leves with high stars/quick timing and getting about 7k at the end of a leve, netting at least 50k a reset, i specifically remember 1 member getting 40-45 also grinding in between in about 2-3 resets which old system wise is a little slow but i still think rather quick for the near last portion of leveling in an MMO

When you say 7k at the end of a leve, are you talking about the total with all the mobs killed, or are you talking about the reward at the end? If it's the reward at the end, which leves and which conditions were used to fulfill this? Because quite honestly no matter what I do it's 600-800 for r20 rewards, 800-1.5k for r30 rewards, and 1.5-3k for r40 rewards on SP, with what seems to be deductions taken from grand total by the SP I get from the mobs.

Like 7k at the end with GA and like 1 link i believe, i think it was 2 GLA duoing but ill get more info when they come on mumble and post it up which leves/stars/rough time of completion kk :D shouldnt be long

I have done just about all of the Rank-40 leves since the patch (excluding faction leves) on my Rank 35~38 PGL and I don't think I have received less than 2500 skill at the end (at one-star difficulty). I did most of the Limsa leves on my 47 MAR last night because of what was said in this thread.

I got about 6.4k at the end of a few leves, 5 stars with GA.

Without GA a 5 star leve gave me 3.9k, so I'd imagine GA mostly affects the end reward.

I assume you did the r40 leves @5 star?? Curious if since i'm only r40 if I should do the r30 leves on 5star and if I will get big complete bonus like that.

Yeah the R20 and 30 leves end rewards are terrible. You're better off soloing open world mobs. Best SP for those ranks from what I hear is SP parties.

At R30, if you're doing leves your best bet is now to just do as many leves as possible with as many links as possible in the shortest time possible. Beyond that, beastman camps are the new hotness.

Just a reminder, I believe it was posted in the letter from the dev XV that 20-30 SP was lower than intended.

The topics we’ve gotten the most feedback on are class balance, UI visibility (which will be addressed in 1.18a), and skill points for levequests between ranks 20–30 . We’ll be using this last week’s worth of feedback to decide where more adjustments are needed, and will be working on them and any further balancing that is necessary together with our 1.19 tasks and releasing them in smaller patches.

Yeah, I hope they adjust this quickly since the majority of my classes are in that range and it is god awful at the moment...

To me people are just spoiled by the 1000SP/kill bullshit pre-patch, and feel like they should be farming Necrologos all day hoping nothing drops. Knocking out the leves in 5-10 minutes each for 5-10k is pretty baller SP/hour. Even in the 20s, 7 links gives a good sized bonus at the end.

I never got to do any of that Necrologos stuff. I never leve-linked or any of that. I've always done leves solo, and never have I felt like I'm making less progress towards that next level than I am now. But they're looking into fixing the 20s rewards, so please don't see this as a moan. I have little faith in SE, but little is not quite zero just yet.
