Everything i've seen and heard is pretty much "ehhhhh". Not ruling it out, but not buying it at launch either. I'll wait a good amount of time and see what end game is like and how people feel about it after the initial hype train comes into station.

I'll admit I have been looking for a new MMO since I have no intention of going back to XIV and GW2 is getting pretty stale since I got my Legendary. But Meresgi nailed it perfectly for me, everything I saw so far was pretty eeehhhhhh for a game with a subscription system.

I'm not looking forward to any supposed MMO games on the horizon. Seems like a doomed genre at this point.

to be honest, this is the same as any other sub based MMO. I simply have little incentive to pay a subscription for anything when I can get plenty of decent or great options for free. Even ESO, which I'm looking very much forward to playing, will only be getting the free first month worth of time from me then I'm putting it down until it inevitably goes F2P. CREDD isn't really a solution. If it works anything like TERA's in-game sub increase item, you need to play several hours every day just to be able to afford those, and I don't have time for that shit.

What's a "good" free option? And is 15 dollars really a big deal? For an actual good game I mean, not anything currently out.

If I want to spend time on an MMO, RIFT is pretty good since all of the changes they've done have actually made it playable and added quite a large amount of stuff to do when you hit endgame, even if you don't want to do large scale raiding. SWTOR isn't bad either if you want to play through the stories and try some PvP/Space combat. GW2 isn't free, but you pay once to enter and that's it and it's still enjoyable as well. TERA is the only F2P that I wouldn't waste my time with.

And I suppose I should've been more clear, $15 isn't a lot no, but I'd rather get something for my money that I can't really get elsewhere for less, especially when I'd enjoy the competition's game(s) more when it comes to sub based MMOs.

Yeah. I've become just soured on the whole idea of an MMO. I would love MMO's if only they were single player.

The item was stupid cheap? If you soloed two rounds of ET or LoT; was more than enough to pay for the month. I expected it to be 5 to 10x more expensive.

Yeah, I'll be getting the Deluxe for sure... was just hoping to see a CE edition. Maybe they may release one but haven't announced it yet. One can dream.

In TERA, the only sub fee is your sanity, eventually. Getting gold for anything was the easy part. Submitting yourself to a gear progression reward system worse than FFXI is where the Time=Money formula really shines lol

Game does have potential, but feels kinda like GW2 w/ a trinity system. Not to mention its UI is god awful. People have said they plan to fix the UI, but how much they fix it before a release date in 3 months is kinda skeptical imo. Honestly, the UI brings back XIV 1.0 nightmares of how non-user friendly it is. Also, questing is very grindy and super generic for the first 10 levels i did. there was no cool CS or really "wow" quest moments.

I've been watching streams on and off and the questing never gets better. I imagine they have some decent content in instances because the combat is pretty good, but the grind is painfully long given how dull the questing is, which is probably gonna turn a lot of people off (certainly turned me off). Unless I'm really impressed by changes I see before release I will be giving the game a pass, at least until it goes F2P or sees a big sale. The game has a ton of personality and the world is real cool, but that isn't enough to make the game for me.

MMOs are all single player now, doing tedious uninteresting bull shit. That's why I hate them.

The hype is strong with this one. I see a lot of people complain about questing and how "the same kill/fetch/escort/protect" but honestly what is good questing? Serious question. Every mmo will have it, there is only so much you can do with it. I loved the feel of the game, environments, mobs, animations, combat. Sure questing wasn't the best but I look forward to the raids and end(elder)game. Adventures with branching story lines will obviously be better and not as boring as regular questing.

if they're going to use the same template as however many countless games that came before it, then they should just focus on endgame and make the leveling experience more streamlined. Not a greater-than-100-hour-estimated-time deal of doing the same thing over and over just to get to the part that you might enjoy. there's no point in dragging out the leveling process if they're not going to try to innovate. guild wars 2's quest structure isn't the best, most amazeballs thing of all time, but at least they tried to shake things up (and imo succeeded in a few ways) with the dynamic quests and having a wide range of activities in the zone "quests". something like that would be a lot more fitting for a game like this than "go kill 20 ratwomp stalkers and put their ears in a busket"

Good questing is stuff that doesn't require you to read every word to understand whats giong on and has a sense of direction. WoW does it and XI does it. It doesn't need to be every single quest, but it needs to be more of "complete all quests in X area to proceed to the next" (which is what wildstar does) w/o any real sense of accomplishment or being drawn in

Except that sort of questing is what a lot of people complain about with WoW and FFXIV these days. Quests that are effectively pointless and can be done mindlessly are also disliked. You can't win, basically.
