Unless Trion plans on having pve servers then AA is out for me since I absolutely loathe losing things to factors outside my control like gank squads and the usual pvp griefer shit. The pve stuff where you can have 40 plus people on a mob and it only drops one item can gtfo too.

Either way I know you have a beef with me because me making posts like earlier or overall related doesn't pander to your own preference and a perceived status quo. And while there are no devs here specifically, getting such messages into the ether is important in hopes the genre might dare to evolve. That's not me saying my way is the only way it can happen, but it is something for consideration.

Otherwise there aren't many options for long term cost efficient gaming these days. Non-Rpgs on consoles are probably lucky to last 20 hours so I don't feel there's much bang for the buck there. And while you're not the first to ridicule wanting top end gear for open world stuff, the only reason there has been no need is because such need hasn't really been tried.

Gonna cut myself off for now because phone typing is a pain.

Archeage won't, but will still have a lot of PVE things to do. Everquest next will be a PVE game.

Wildstar's problem is that it's implemented a good mix of current MMO mechanics into the old Everquest/Vanilla WoW raid or GTFO mentality. It's something that a lot of older MMO players pan for whilst they wear their rose-coloured glasses. Trion has either forgotten, or, from what I can tell, chosen to ignore why MMO evolved to incorporate the players who weren't able to be the 1% who saw the relevant content being developed during that era. What they should have done is included both, but that's not the game they want to present. The problem is, unless you're actually paying attention to the game, most people won't realize this; they'll hit that brick wall, then leave because there isn't anything for them to do. MMO are all about progressing your character, and Housing just isn't going to cut it for those who can't get into a raiding guild good enough to actually complete Wildstars ever-changing raid content.

I'm still on the fence about the game; I could probably get my money's worth just experiencing the quest content, storyline, and environment art, on both factions side, but that's kind of like paying full price, for full course meal, then leaving after soup and salad have been served. It's not only a waste, on my part, but on Trion's as well.

Didn't see it posted but most probably have seen.

Also the amount of shit that hit the fan today over name reservations... I love Carbine and Wildstar, but the situation could have been handled better.

Totally agree about the name registration. I was able to get mine reserved after all.

https://forums.wildstar-online.com/f...and-4500month/ part of the uproar from name reservation day. Yeah it sucked, yeah I spent hours getting my name. There is absolutely no way to make everyone happy in this situation. People are screaming for a redo. But if they redo it and people lose their names they had before... another uproar.

I got a chance to play this a few days ago. I was pretty hyped for this game after seeing all the dev videos on combat and housing, but the beginning of the game seemed really boring and lackluster to me. I think I barely made it out of the starting spaceship area. I really liked the MOBA-style combat system in an MMORPG environment, but only having 3 or 4 moves at my disposal and fighting trash mobs that mostly auto-attacked really dumbed down the experience for me. I probably just needed to grind a bit more, but the start of the game just didn't draw me in at all.

Devs really need to get on the bandwagon that if your starter area = nub tutorial zone; then give the option to skip it after first play through. Until then, experienced mmoers just gotta remember they are stuck with it.

This is pretty much how I felt as well. The world is beautiful if you're into the art style, but combat just felt so.....dull to me. Pretty much the same reason I didn't like GW2. =/ TERA's combat was probably my favorite, attacks just had a feeling of power behind them and looked quite awesome, but quests/endgame killed my enjoyment of that game greatly lol.

Just feels like everytime I play a new MMO, it has a few things I enjoy, and way too many things I end up disliking that cause me to lose interest rather quickly.

I suffered through the same issues you guys did. If you can manage to get out of the starter zone it gets a little bit better. Once you get to lvl 10 things start to develop and you can begin customizing your character more with ability points.

sounds about normal for any MMO, when your just starting. Your not supposed to have a ton of abilities raping everything left n right (unless your stalker).

Like most any mmo in existance.

slow start , barely any abilities, barely any damage or anything fancy looking

mid level, start to have decent abilities, some cool stuff, some nice game options (in case of wild star, housing, dungeons, pvp, gear that actually sort of looks decent).

end game, access to everything, where most of the developers spend their time adding content for you to do when you hit level cap.

https://forums.wildstar-online.com/f...from-the-devs/ Some people will just not be satisfied unless Carbine lets them have the name they want.

I don't think I'll ever understand how some get so hung up on the names of their avatars. :/
