I hope you're not referring to me because as I already said I never stated he uses IE. Hell, I have no idea what he uses, though tbh I wouldn't be surprised because he doesn't give a shit about computers. All I stated was that he doesn't like change which was their "logic" behind stupid people not liking IE.
Also, not every genius loves computers. Shocking I know.
That's like saying if he was a real genius then he wouldn't have failed math class.

My uncle is a bit on the eccentric side. He never did anything with his brains outside of becoming fluent in 7 languages and is insanely artsy both with carvings and with music. He doesn't like a lot of modern technology, but then most people over the age of 60 don't either. I think a better study would be that old people tend to us IE because they don't care and grew up with computers like our generation.
My mom's side of the family has a history of the eccentric high IQ people (no, I'm not claiming I am one, because I'm not), but they have always been on the artsy side vs. scientists/technologists. That side of my family is full of vaudeville players n' Broadway stuff.
Claiming a person could only be a genius if they know not to use IE means you don't know anything about what the IQ means. They have the capacity to do what you said, but they may not have the desire or the want to give a shit about it. high IQ =/= technology lovers.
