Oh, so youre one of those people who purposely make shitty websites where the majority of market share and 90% of the business, government, school, etc industry market share completly avoid them.
*Website tells me to use FF or that my browser is incompatible*
I'll just support another superior site.
It's like the tech version of having religion or politics shoved down your throat.
Go make shitty games for the ipad.
No, those type of sites usually say that because of a web application.
Web designers work on the front end of websites, and we don't disregard IE, we just have to add more code to make the website look the same in every browser because IE 6/7/8 didn't comply to WC3 Standards.
Not sure how you got web designer and "make games" confused.
Also this study is dumb, the majority of people use whatever is forced on them by the company they work for and at home they use whatever came installed (IE or Safari). Most people not in the tech generation/gamers/tech related job won't know there are better alternatives. Doesn't make them dumb.
Do you understand what a correlation is? The study shows that browser usage and IQ are correlated. It does not mean that only stupid people use x browser. It does not mean using x browser makes you stupid. It simply means that people with certain IQs are more likely to use certain browsers. The study isn't dumb, it does exactly what it was supposed to. You thinking that because people with lower iq scores tend to use IE that this study is saying "people who use IE are stupid, lol" is dumb.
Let's make cars with 1mm of ground clearance and then blame the roads for not being flat enough.
where did I blame chrome again?
even if it's the cars fault, you're still not going to drive those roads with them.
That was my point.
I'm not just going to use chrome because it's chrome, if I can't view certain pages with it. Who cares who's fault it is? That's irrelevant.
Umm... you kinda got the metaphor backwards. I was agreeing with you.
Seems the BBC is reporting the story as fake: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14389430
