I honestly couldn't care less if it's the web or the app. If I need to do my school work on it, and I can't see half the site on chrome, I won't use chrome. Who's to blame is irrelevant to me.

Oh, so youre one of those people who purposely make shitty websites where the majority of market share and 90% of the business, government, school, etc industry market share completly avoid them.

*Website tells me to use FF or that my browser is incompatible*

I'll just support another superior site.
It's like the tech version of having religion or politics shoved down your throat.
Go make shitty games for the ipad.

No, those type of sites usually say that because of a web application.

Web designers work on the front end of websites, and we don't disregard IE, we just have to add more code to make the website look the same in every browser because IE 6/7/8 didn't comply to WC3 Standards.

Not sure how you got web designer and "make games" confused.

Also this study is dumb, the majority of people use whatever is forced on them by the company they work for and at home they use whatever came installed (IE or Safari). Most people not in the tech generation/gamers/tech related job won't know there are better alternatives. Doesn't make them dumb.

Do you understand what a correlation is? The study shows that browser usage and IQ are correlated. It does not mean that only stupid people use x browser. It does not mean using x browser makes you stupid. It simply means that people with certain IQs are more likely to use certain browsers. The study isn't dumb, it does exactly what it was supposed to. You thinking that because people with lower iq scores tend to use IE that this study is saying "people who use IE are stupid, lol" is dumb.

Let's make cars with 1mm of ground clearance and then blame the roads for not being flat enough.

where did I blame chrome again?

even if it's the cars fault, you're still not going to drive those roads with them.

    That was my point.

I'm not just going to use chrome because it's chrome, if I can't view certain pages with it. Who cares who's fault it is? That's irrelevant.

Seems the BBC is reporting the story as fake: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14389430

A number of media organisations, including the BBC, reported on the research, put out by Canadian firm ApTiquant.

It later emerged that the company's website was only recently set up and staff images were copied from a legitimate business in Paris.

It is unclear who was behind the stunt.

The story was reported by many high profile organisations including CNN, the Daily Mail, the Telegraph and Forbes.

Questions about the authenticity of the story were raised by readers of the BBC website who established that the company which put out the research - ApTiquant - appeared to have only set up its website in the past month.

Thumbnail images of the firm's staff on the website also matched those on the site of French research company Central Test, although many of the names had been changed.

The BBC contacted Central Test who confirmed that they had been made aware of the copy but had no knowledge of ApTiquant or its activities.

    Research claims
ApTiquant issued a press release claiming that it had invited 100,000 web users to take IQ tests and matched their results with the type of browser they used.

It also supplied extensive research data.

The results claimed to show that Internet Explorer users were generally of lower intelligence.

The BBC sought alternative views for the original story, including Professor David Spiegelhalter of Cambridge University's Statistical Laboratory, who said: "I believe these figures are implausibly low - and an insult to IE users."

No-one on ApTiquant's contact number was available for comment.

Graham Cluley, senior security consultant at Sophos examined the source material for the BBC after concerns were raised.

"It's obviously very easy to create a bogus site like this - as all phishers know it's easy to rip-off someone else's webpages and pictures," he said.

Mr Cluley also looked at the pdf file containing the data that many people had downloaded from a variety of sources and said it did not appear to contain malware.

    That, is awesome.

Goes to show you that people will believe whatever they want to if it gives them something to feel superior to others over.

Studies show that people who blindly believe studies are... dumb.

    (I believed the study. )

Tell-Tale signs that should have uncovered the hoax in less than 5 minutes!
The domain was registered on July 14th 2011.
The test that was mentioned in the report, “Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (IV) test” is a copyrighted test and cannot be administered online.
The phone number listed on the report and the press release is the same listed on the press releases/whois of my other websites. A google search reveals this.
The address listed on the report does not exist.
All the material on my website was not original.
The website is made in WordPress. Come on now!
I am sure, my haphazardly put together report had more than one grammatical mistakes.
There is a link to our website AtCheap.com in the footer.
