I agree, that scene had some ridiculous (and badly delivered) lines.

Couldn't remember the name of this movie when talking about it with a friend. Remembered it as Just in Time. Which woulda been perfect for Justin Timeberlake XD
Off the reviews here, guess I won't be bothering with it ;x
I would recomend it. There were plot holes, but overall an enjoyable flick. Take it for what it is, a bit of eye candy for everyone and an enjoyable take on currency exchange. I viewed it more as kind of a futuristic robin hood/bonnie and clyde flick. Not much else out right now, so would recomend.
Don't lie to these kind people, you stared at boobs the whole time.
How was Cillian Murphy? Love the guy but don't want to see shitty movie.
Can someone explain to me how this movie is "many must die for a few to live" and not, "haha only people in the ghetto have to die!" Because seriously, yes the rich live forever, but all their cooks/waiters/parking attendants/cops seem pretty content with ya know....not dying. Which would probably mean they are also immortal. Not rich, but immortal.
Overall I liked the movie; partly because I loved the concept. There were soem bad parts, but overall I enjoyed the movie. It's a really philosophical movie imo. Brings a whole new meaning to "Time is money".
As for Daydreamer; it's because everyone has a year to spend; so for someone to live a million years, a few more than 1 million people needs to die for him to take their time. Remember though, that every second those one million people spend equates to 11,5 days lost. So practically, over two million people needs to die for someone to live a million years. So practically, to live 60 years over 120 people must die. And since the ghetto has (assumingly) most new people born, their sole purpose is to produce years, making the ghetto a farm.
The obvious plothole is that if someone with 4 days left die, those 4 days are lost forever and not put in to the system for others to use. And since everyone in the ghetto seem to live at least 1 years past their 25th birthday, one could ask where all of the extra years come from. Because if everyone lives for a year after their 25th birthday; everyone would die at 26 and no one would be immortal.
Why bother putting a clock on their lives at all? They obviously didn't have to, it was just extra to make sure people wouldn't overpopulate the earth (the timekeeper says so at one point I believe). Just make it so people can't reproduce without exhorbitant costs.
