    A core its basically a processor, so in the case of the i7 you have 4 CPUs (it doesnt work quite that simple of course though)

    I'm late, but any of those ones you posted should be enough for FFXIV, but not on very high settings, probably standard and below. If you can find one with an AMD Radeon HD 6650M GPU I'd recommend that, otherwise the ones with nVidia that you listed should be all right. I wouldn't get one with less than 1GB dedicated memory for the video card though.

    Ended up getting this:

    Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0GHz
    6GB
    AMD Radeon HD6770M

    It was really priceworthy, even though it cost a bit more than I intended to pay from the start.
    It looks amazing!

    Thank you all for the input, especially Caiyuo, those benchmarks were increadibly helpfull.
