I'll try to describe the problem as best as I can:
For some time now - and what might or might not be important is that it seems this started happening after I've exchanged the mainboard and gpu in my PC - my monitor won't properly err... start up after I either turn on the PC for the first time or after I try to sit back after it's been on for some time (most of the time it's actually running overnight, I turn it off from time to time only).
What happens is that the Power button on the monitor keeps blinking, but the screen remains black (no "No signal" msg) and the solution to getting it work seems to be randomly and madly clicking the mouse buttons - though it may be just a coincidence... Especially since sometimes it only takes me a little while to get the screen to show up and sometimes I'll be sitting there for quite some time getting angry, and the whole thing is even more annoying when I find half of my desktop destroyed and lots of applications started from my mad clickingI'd also mention that when I press the menu button on the monitor nothing happens. I also have PS3 hooked up to it with another cable and once tried to turn it on while waiting for the screen to come back but it didn't seem to change anything.
I've had someone suggest that the HDD is at fault here but without further explanation so I have no idea what I should even check here.
