    Laptop batter/AC adapter

I baught myself a laptop for my Mechanic training / freetime after school and shit, I'm a total noob at this laptop stuff, Im looking for a decent battery to buy since the one that came with this laptop only has a 3 hour life, What should I be looking for? i'm think I want one around 6 hours in the event I have a long distance to fly.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L665D-S5159
Its not a top of the line, i got it for 549, but its a pretty good one, i can run quite a bit of games on it. Any suggestions would be great

You bought this new or used? I'm not sure what the standard duration of the battery is but if it's used it could be less than what it used to be. I'm assuming you have the 6-cell version of your battery. They sell a 12-cell version as well. A quick google of your model # came with this as an example:

    http://www.battery4us.com/toshiba-no...655D-S5159.htm

As you can see slightly more expensive but also much bigger and heavier. Look around ebay or google shopping for best deals on the battery. Maybe someone might know a good site to buy batteries from ?_?

Also to conserve battery life try to run if possible less utilities wifi, card reader, usb devices etc. Low back-lightning helps a ton. Set power options to turn off screen w/e not in use etc.

Pretty much this. Screen backlight is pretty much the most battery-intensive thing if it's up too high.

I ended up purchasing a 12 cell battery to replace a 6 cell for my own laptop, and the longevity is very much worth the cost. New batteries, depending on where you buy them, have a warranty of 1 year or more in case anything goes wrong.

12 cell would be your best bet if you wanted it for a 6 hour flight. Change everything you can in the Power Options to get the most out of your trip. You can also use your older battery as a backup for a few extra hours.

I bought it new. I have the screen dim out after a min of idle time, and it hybernates after about an hour, goes into sleep at 30 mins, but the battery still drains pretty quickly, thanks for the suggestions, i'll check them out when i get a chance
