as long as they keep reading published stuff, they'll be okay. the subject matter doesn't have much to do with it, it's the constant exposure to grammatically correct writing and formal diction. I'd venture that even playing dialogue-heavy text in RPGs is positive, since they're getting that exposure. let kids play RPGs, turn off the voice acting, etc. renaissance pedagogical theory was all about exposure, ie, make the kids read a shitton of the classics so they absorb the style of writing and grammar precepts without having to drill them with worksheets or w/e.
