I was totally expecting Ashur to attempt to switch sides once he got his team.
Watched the very first episode up to the most recent one over the past couple weeks, two conclusions:
1) Season 1 was so epic, started off a little slow but by the end it was seriously up there with season 4 of The Wire for some of the best stuff I've ever seen. The actor who did Spartacus this season (Andy) was amazing.
2) Was greatly confused as I sat down and watched the season 1 final and the season 2 premier right after with no idea they switched Spartacus between the seasons. New Spartacus has grown on me some but Crixus, Oenomaus and Gattacus are far better actors and carry the show for me. If Andy (old Spartacus) was still alive there would be no question in my mind this would be the best show on TV, the guy was incredible in season 1.
Oh, and Asher is the guy you love to hate and Glaber is a huge douche (can't stand the actor who plays him) so I can't wait for his character to die.
Sounds like you skipped Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, which is understandable as it was a prequel to Season One. Even though it aired after Season One and before Two. That is where all of the Gannicus story came from and likely why it may be confusing why Gannicus and Oenomaus share such hatred for one another for most of Season Two. Still very much worth watching though, as no matter what those events will always have already happened =P
Still at a lost of words of how awesome that finale was.
The finale's cinematography was beyond words. Oh wow. What a beautiful episode.
Praise aside, nothing terribly surprising occurred—that is, save the culmination of Lucretia's gambit. I figured she would steal the child and use it to restore her house . . . I just thought that she would do it in the living world. What a shame.
Fuck this episode. Fuck it right in the ass. Mira died in a dumb and thrown in fashion. Oenomas pulled off a bad ass line by saying, "I owe you pain", then died...... BULLSHIT. I feel they nailed Lucretia though. That was dark and yet touching. The rest though? Right in the ass. Do not want.
Awesome finale, SO GLAD I DONT HAVE TO SEE GLABER'S DUMB FACE ANYMORE, F THAT DOUCHE. The Lucretia part was pretty surprising though, the abduction not so much but I thought she would keep/raise the child. I have to ask now - long until season 3?
Well don't they need to kill everyone who knows who Spartacus is/looks like on the Roman side? So Asher, Glaber, Lucretia, Illythia, etc. all need to die? For the "I am Spartacus! I am Spartacus!" thing to be able to happen at least, lulz.
I am quite sad Oenomais died, I thought he would make a beastly trainer even with missing an eye.
Illythia can still be alive though lol, Lucretia survived pretty much same shit
Wow no one left =/
Man, still pissed off today. Thinking on that wasted ten minutes of horribly crappy new Naevia "standing up for herself"........ that chick needs to be replaced. Ashur was a great character that you loved to hate. They could have done an infinite amount of shit with him, but they made his death as shitty as they did with Mira. The season wasn't bad at all but by far bottom of the series. I would have been happier having the previous episode as the finale.

part of an interview regarding the next season, so spoilerish
<redacted>
Miras death was a bummer, fuck Navia, they should've thrown her down the cliff. Gannicus is the man, I love the laugh. Oenimeus should've had more epic death but not too bad. I like his final words with Gan.
Holy fuckkkk at the ending.
Pretty good finale. The deaths of Mira and Asher were pretty weak. Nivea is an awful character, I wouldn't have minded Asher killing her off before Crixus takes out Asher.
I don't hate Navea's character, but I did hate that scene. I was kinda hoping Asher would kill her, since he had the chance to and took it easy (since he knew if he did kill her, he was dead, I imagine). The scene dragged on, she said too much, etc. Of course, I completely forget what Asher did to her in S1 so that could be why I didn't find it as emotional.
I have no real complaints on Mira's death. It's the battlefield and anything can happen. It's certainly better than Walking Dead style bs where zombies run up and tackle people with super speed just to kill them off. Onamaeus' death was fine too, but I sort of resent how weak they made him appear. I thought he was supposed to be more badass. The beginning of season 2 they started nerfing him so it wasn't really a shock to see him go out the way he did. I'm really on the rag that Lucretia, and Asher had to die. They took out their two best actors in the entire series;( I really wanted to see those two characters continue to go tick for tac and with Ilythia ordered to end Lucretia I expected some form of unholy alliance between Asher and Lulu again.
All in all great episode. I am at the point I want to bone the new Spartacus, I guess this means I'm starting to like him.
