I was only minimally excited for this, I don't really like Dr Strange as a character or Cucumber as an actor. The thread title change and associated posts make me want to see it.

I wish I could still use drugs cause damn this movie would be amazing on psychedelics.

That said, good times all around. Follows the standard Marvel format we all know, but with the obvious magical/mystic tilt. Plus you know, Cumberbitch

I enjoyed it. Nothing incredible but it was fun and interesting. The effects impressed me. Hated the few shaky cam shots.
I have never seen anything with Cumberbatch before and the dude was awesome. The movie left me wanting more and that's a good thing. It could have been 30 minutes longer, and I rarely say that about any movie.

Wish it was a bit longer tbh. Hearing Cumberbatch with an American accent was an experience in and of itself.

A 12 minute video explaining a 3 minute post-credit scene. There is milking shit, and then there is fucking retarded.

Dr. Strange (November 4, 2016): Confirmed Macross Woosh

Just got back from seeing it.

    Spoiler: show
the fucking cape scene was amazing. The fact a stunt guy had to flip around like he was auditioning for fight club made me laugh like a mad man

    Amazeballs in Imax 3D.

    Lol Macross.

Definitely got a Gregory House vibe from pre-crash Strange. That's no bad thing.

    Spoiler: show
So apparently, Cumberbatch voiced Dormammu, which is an interesting concept, since it got me thinking of Dormammu as an alternate universe incarnation of Strange himself. Full disclosure, this movie is my first encounter with the franchise, so if I am way off base, no pitchforks please.

At the very least, it's a cool movie easter egg.

Movie was a lot of fun. Visuals were fantastic and Benny was as good as to be expected of him. That being said, it was pretty standard fare for a Marvel introduction movie. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing because they've clearly learned how to do them really well (Hi2U Guardians, Ant-Man), but it just felt like another comic book movie.

To give it a comparison, Capt:Winter Soldier is still my favourite Marvel movie because that was more focused on being an engrossing political drama than a "look at Capt doing Capt stuff" Marvel movie. Guardians is another great example, they did a fantastic job of giving each character a deep'ish backstory and individual motivations that ultimately led them to working together to overcome a common obstacle/threat.

Not to say Dr. Strange was bad. It was a good movie, just not a great movie like the 2 I just mentioned. The Doctor himself was really fleshed out well, but all the other characters were lacking in buildup/development to really make the world more immersed and full. Someone else earlier said it could have been 30 minutes longer and I totally agree.

Above average(7/10), but Marvel really needs to develop villains more.
    Spoiler: show
Kaecilius was really poor for a villain, didn't like the way Dormammu looked, and don't feel like they fluidly got to a point where the audience would root for Strange after showing what a dick he was in the beginning. I do feel Mordo will be great in the next one though.

I mean isn't that kind of the point of these credit scenes? Little teases that show and hide just enough to create a lot more talk and speculation than the few minutes of actual air time they use?
