You make some solid points. I won't argue with you about the sexyness of Res and that health shooty back skill. It's great in coop but in single it's kind of ummmm useless. We are more into blasthing through shit. Lol.
I'm going to try Immolate tonight since you said it's sex. Shit moves around too much to make Cloud Kill usefull and it feels like it never conects with what I'm phaselocking.
Fleet might not be a bad idea either. If you get a Legndary Class mod you can zip around everywhere with a Rough Rider.
U PS3? Add me. You can rez me non stop.
Edit: Rough Rider also helps Recompense
Add me on ps3 Pluui. Currently only have Axton at 61, but all the rest (minus Krieg) are at 50. I don't know if I have it in me to run all the other characters through the story again and to 61, lol
Brobox. And yeah of course the support tree is useless in single player, but I have my Psycho for single player play. I haven't had that much of a problem with things moving out of Cloud Kill and it resets every 8 seconds so even then I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's definitely awesome against loaders.
So I've had this on PC for a long ass time and never bothered downloading it / installing till now.
Any hints / tips for a brand new newbie?
SteamID is mrf83
I generally carry around a rocket launcher in one slot once they become available as it's good for using in fight for your life mode. Zero is probably the only character that isn't very beginner friendly as he's pretty squishy and he's very gear dependent to make him shine. Don't forget to spend your badass rank tokens, you can find the menu for them to the right of your skill menu. There is an npc in Sanctuary that gives away free blue weapons when you talk to him. He wears sunglasses and carries a few colorful weapons on his back. He will change locations within the city so you gotta find him.
on consoles he was originally glitched and would spawn 100% of the time, they eventually patched it and now it's like a 5-10% chance he will spawn, drastically reduced (if not completely eliminated, not sure) after the city is airborn.
Will do next time I go online.
BLwikia
Which I feel like is really outdated cause I haven't seen him in forever. In the unpatched console versions, Michael has a 100% spawn chance before Sanctuary is relocated, after which point his spawn rates returns to the default 10%. In the PC version, he always has the normal 10% spawn chance.
Just to let you know about these Class mods, and i guess spoiler if you like surprised
Spoiler: show
They can be purple. I got a good purple one for Siren if I was heavy into the support tree.
Guess its probably Blue to Purple. On second thought my Mechro (lvl 21) one was Purple, and my Assassin (50) Was Blue. shame
some of the blue ones can be pretty great, the Chaotic Evil Monk mod for example.

I'm getting stupid lucky on my Mechro playthrough... Got an Infinity off Doc Mercy, a Longbow from the Creeper, and a White Death from Gettle already. I have like 3 Legendaries now and only level 23.
Did they increase Ridil drop rate?
Helios and Flicker are garbage skills. Flicker is multiplicative, not additive. While helios, cloud kill, and blight phoenix (i know you didn't spec it here) all start to fail on TVHM and become worthless in UVHM. Immolate is great though for getting second winds. But you gotta take something to get to ruin. It's too bad. Cataclysm tree is all about the elemental damage, but most of the skills suck ass.
For solo play, I like to take a few points in wreck and sub-sequence, and then finally quicken. I like to maximize the use of phaselock.

You have to have Helios at +10 or +11, but once you get that it's pretty good, at level 52 right now it's doing an initial 16k burst with 6k/tick after (with slag due to ruin). On TVHM. That will be close to 9k on UVHM. On flesh of course. Initial burst will be even higher on mobs that don't have shields or have them depleted already.
In other news, Jimbo is being niggardly and not dropping my damn Slagga.
EDIT: Above damage is on mobs that are the same level as me.
5 minutes after I complained I got it.
Point is, that even at +10 or whatever, Helios is a very deficient skill. The damage is not even noticeable. 16k initial and 9k/tick is laughable damage in UVHM. It needs to be exponentially scaled up to complement. I would also argue that if you're getting Helios up that high, you're doing it wrong gear wise.
Here's a good thread from the bl2 forums that talks about maya's deficient skills http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/sh...d.php?t=273476
To demonstrate the maximum potential damage of Helios, let us assume the Siren is level 61, has 5/5 points in Helio, has equipped a +6 Helios Class Mod (thus, 11/5 Helios) and 33% Fire Damage relic (1.33x), has slagged the enemy (3x multiplier), and is versing a Flesh enemy (1.75x multiplier). This equates to the below formula to determine Helios damage (a formula which has been verified via testing against Marcus' target dummy).
Total Helios damage, w/ above multipliers = (1-point Helios damage * # of Helios points) * (Fire Damage Relic) * (Slag Multiplier) * (Flesh Multiplier)
Thus, Current Helios damage = (2768 * 11) * 1.30 * 3 * 1.75 = 213000 (3 sf)
213k. No question, that's abysmal. Even with all the potential multipliers a fully equipped Siren has available to her, the skill will do decidedly poor damage against the weakest of Bandit enemies (Bandit Outlaws sit between 1 million and 1.5 million HP).
