The game features icy tundras, thick jungles and rocky mountains to explore
World is now streamed from the disc, so no more loading pauses
Features more dramatic natural architecture and imaginative character design. For example, when you free a captive they may temporarily fight on your side to get revenge on their captor.
Claptrap robots are back
Vehicles now have more responsive controls and the ability to drift around corners
AI foes are smarter, taking cover and working together intelligently
Enemies can now climb over complicated terrain
You can stun and cripple baddies with the new localized damage system
Old characters will return, but primarily in cameo roles
EGM’s TAKE: It appears that Gearbox have listened to the critics and is going all-out to fix many of the issues noted in the first game.
Claptrap robots are back![]()
Wow. No one has EVER done that. Bravo. Your material is so fresh and interesting!
Back to the game: The year wait is going to be a long one. I had an absolute blast doing co-op with the first one. I just hope they get rid of the fucking horrible gamespy login requirement. Was such a huge headache.
How could you be mad about Claptraps anyways? They were amazing.
seriously, i'd be pissed if they were gone :l
Big fan of Borderlands and Gearbox passes away from Cancer at the age of 22.
Gearbox immortalizes him with claptrap Eulogy.

Makes me both sad and happy, happy that there are decent human beings left on the planet.
Wow. Just wow.
Well, damn. I'll be buying borderlands 2 just because they went out of their way to do that.
That was very cool.
I heard they're making him an npc also.
yeah. he is going to be an NPC in the new game and Im pre-ordering it guaranteed because of this. first the awesome proposal thing they did for a dude, now they remember a fan with something that will keep him going forever.

Borderlands has a novel due for release on Tuesday, entitled Borderlands: The Fallen. It'll track the story of Roland, who represents the soldier class in the original game.
From the writeup on Amazon:
His name's Roland. Soldier class, a former mercenary, he's on a full-time mission to scrape a living out of the most dangerous planet in the galaxy.
Is he qualified? He's well armed, he's ruthless, and he's tougher than skag hide. And, oh yeah-he's strapped with some of the most exotic weaponry this side of the Vault, not to mention possessing fists like chunks of steel.
Zac Finn and his wife and young son had better get on the right side of Roland, because a stopover in orbit has turned into a nightmarish fall to the unforgiving landscape of the Borderlands. Zac hopes to find a strange new alien treasure in the Borderlands to turn his down-spiraling life around. But his wife, Marla, and his son, Cal, just want to survive, and reunite, because catastrophe has left them separated by hundreds of klicks. Their chances aren't good ... and Roland is all that stands between them and the planet's kill-crazed Psychos and murderous bandits—not to mention the grotesque primals, giant wyrm squids, insane tunnel rats, voracious skags, brutal bruisers, and ruthless mercs.

Like it says, it's just talk and no guarantee, but has anybody used the sharpshooter with Killzone/Resistance/SOCOM?By no means an official declaration of intent, a comment from President and CEO of Gearbox Software in relation to his experience with the PlayStation Move lights a glimmer of hope for device support in Borderlands 2.
To celebrate the five-year anniversary of the PlayStation 3's launch in North America, the US PlayStation Blog published a collection of "must play" PS3 games suggested by some of the top game makers in the business. Among them, head of Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford was the only one listing Resistance 3 amid his three favorites (the other two being Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls), along with an intriguing comment about his experience with the PlayStation Move.
"I’m a big fan of anything Insomniac, but Resistance 3 motivated me to get the PlayStation Move set up with the sharp shooter controller, and it’s a great way to play this great game," Pitchford said. "It’s always difficult to be able to rationalize custom development effort for sub-sets of customers on a platform, but the experience I had with Resistance 3 and the sharp shooter makes me want to see something special done with that interface in our games".
So, there you have it. If (and that's a big "if", mind you) Gearbox Software eventually announces Move support for any of its current projects (Aliens: Colonial Marines and Borderlands 2, scheduled for release in 2012 and 2013 respectively) you know you'll have to thank Insomniac for that.
Would sharpshooter + Borderlands be OMGSEX?
just discovered this thread as i just discovered borderlands myself. got the game of the year edition half off, with all the dlc's for 360. im so addicted to it, ive beat the main game, ned's dlc, and a majority of the TBone. Still gotta go throguh claptrap+moxxi. If any1 ever wants to coop sometime, my GT is DGZ MoistNapkin. Also, cant wait for B2...everything looks awesome
edit: also, whats the weapons armory glitch?!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu4hIGb2XC0 is how i did it, not sure if same for xbawkz or if it's been fixed or anything.
Also incase you also wanted to know what it is, it allows you to enter the armory without using the elalator, which gives you infinite time to collect all the goodies, because you normally get just over 2mins iirc, and there are alot of chests.
