Came back from it I'm kinda torn

1) not a fan that most evil were some rejected nerd guy ( I see you max Dillon).
2) Gwen's death was kinda brutal IMO lol
3). I felt that James Franco was a better Harry then the guy in that movie.

Gwen Stacy's death is supposed to be brutal. It was the event that, in it's day, showed the world that you could tell adult stories with real consequences in what was considered a children's medium.

I honestly enjoyed it but I am worried the more I think about it the more I won't like it. I still think Garfield makes a great Peter, I love the way he and Spidey are written compared to ole clownshoes in the first trilogy.

I really enjoyed it. Garfield makes a great Spider-Man. There was a lot that they tried to put in the movie so of course things felt rushed at some points. I think I was more excited that there was so much to see rather than disappointed at the rushed feeling that came towards the end to be honest.

Torn feelings. The well done parts were exceptionally well done and do a good job of masking some flaws

1. Harry goes crazy within a few days of finding out he has a disease that his father lived with for decades.
2. Rhino and Green Goblin had a collective five minutes of screen-time.
3. While there was technically five months after Gwen's death, it was basically 10 minutes of screen time. They time-skipped the grief basically so that they could get to Spiderman's comeback.

after spidey 3 i wouldn't complain about the timeskip, no one needs emo pete
and as for rhino I like the idea of fleshing out the universe by having some minor villains, not everyone needs a huge backstory and buildup. goblin was a bit of a letdown though

I just feel the way it ends makes her such an afterthought. Too much Peter listens to a voicemail and gets over someone's death. I think it's pretty obvious May knows in this universe, having some sort of thing between them about his identity where she helps him get over it (besides saying she is cleaning Uncle Ben's stuff) would have been better.

Edit: I might be wrong here, but it might actually be the companies most financially successful film franchise. In fact, it's the 9th highest grossing franchise world wide. And only with 5 movies to boot.

Thought the movie was pretty great.

Gwen's death was definitely more graphic than I was expecting it to be. The whole theatre went from quiet to you-could-hear-a-pin-drop quiet.

I didn't really have an issue with the time jump because watching him be depressed for months wouldn't have been great cinematography and Gwen's speech was basically written to pull him out of it. Exposing himself to May or having May magically know would have been a little more forced I think. I'm not a comics guy so I don't know if May ever finds out about Peter in this universe.

Electro's story was maybe sped along a bit but it didn't really bother me either. Harry went nuts pretty quickly (as borderline-alcoholic twenty-year-olds are wont to do) but I think he'll be back for more in the next movie(s) so we'll see where that goes.

Gonna miss Emma though.

No one of any importance in the actual comics from what I've read but he apparently helped form the Sinister Six in some GN trilogy or something. Was codenamed the Gentleman but had no powers of any kind which kind of throws into question his sudden appearance and exit at the end of ASM1. Has some connection to the Parker parents as well.

Her head definitely struck the ground after the webbing finally caught up to her though there was no blood to be seen anywhere. Not sure if they intended there to be a different cause of death there or not.
