that it was a snapped neck. Tony Stark brought up Peter's inexperience as a factor in Gwen's death and said that if they passed registration and trained the young heroes better, tragedies such as that could have been prevented.

It was a broken neck via whiplash. It's been brought up numerous times since (as recently as a few weeks ago in the Superior Spider-Man finale) that he has practiced and trained to safely catch people that are falling to prevent what happened with Gwen from ever repeating.

Yea, comics clearly neck snap, Movie you could clearly see her head and most of her body hit the ground but who knows if her neck broke first.

I know there was music playing while she was falling, but I wonder if it cut out when her head hit, cause I feel I remember they had a sound when it happened. Would be one of those interesting things to go back and listen for -- kinda like noticing there's no music when Bane fights Batman the first time.

She clearly dies from head hitting the concrete cause the webbing was too slow to catch her. Next time you see it you'll notice.

So a thought.. wasn't he getting his webbing from Oscorp in the first film? If they stopped experimenting with animals and killed off the spiders, wouldn't they also stop producing web for him to buy/steal/whatever?

Saw it with gf, she actually didn't fall asleep and paid attention to the whole thing... Even asked questions. So +1 to this movie for doing that.

I haven't ever read a single comic book nor do I know really anything outside of the movies for the most part:

It took everything I had in my body not to burst out laughing when Gwen died. God that was a hysterical death scene. SPLAT. There was definitely a sound effect similar to splat and a snap as well as collision with concrete by head and a whiplash motion, they covered all bases.

I guess I need to watch it again(when it comes out on DVD). Because it sure did not look like she landed on the ground. Yes the whiplash was obviously there, but everything else you're all saying, I just didn't see.

Gwen's father's ghost non verbally gave peter many warnings throughout the film. But one has to wonder, would she still have died even IF he stayed away from her..

Anyway, I was touched by the scene with Aunt May telling Peter that he was her boy. My favorite scene.

Gotta give it Jamie Foxx for playing a decent villian. It was something different from his usual roles. And despite being a villain, "Electro" was a likable villain.
