Anyone work in an Apple genius bar?

There is vomit all over my macbook pro.

Does the genius bar have some kind of macbook pro cleaning service? Will they clean out all of the gunk under the keyboard for a fee, or will I have to take it apart and do it myself? There doesn't appear to be any motherboard damage, but the "h" key won't work, and the entire thing smells of vomit. Help.

On the subject of le Genius bar, does anyone know if they will touch/do repairs on a Mac that's been opened myself?

Had my logic board replaced a year ago, and its been having heat problems (was too lazy to drive 90min to get it checked out...again, within their 3 months guarantee), hitting 90 celcius regularly if I try to run a game. My suspicion is a shitty thermal paste job, tempted to open it up and see for myself.

Hard to tell if they've been opened by you instead of another Genius (although they can see your repair history and put two and two together). Policy is no, but depending on who you get they might be nice and overlook it. Although if the laptop smells like puke......good look. I doubt they'd charge you for a new thermal paste job. It's pretty much just labor and they tend to waive labor fees on small stuff.

http://www.ifixit.com/ might be your friend. Otherwise can never hurt to take it in. Really depends on who you get.

You could also just call the on campus bookstore if you're in town. They're the local Apple service center so they should be able to source the part. Closest Apple Store is several hours away.

Could do that too. Heatsink/Thermal paste stuff isn't too hard to do.
