You make my head hurt.
You make my head hurt.
OMG SHUT THE FUCK UP AND POST FAIL PICTURES THAT'S WHAT I'M HERE TO SEE!!!!
There are two general types of mobs in this game: mobs that matter and trash mobs. There are two modes of engagement in this game: getting shit done and dicking around. Dicking around killing coffer key mobs, magian trials, or low-level NMs (aka: trash mobs), the RDM can feel free to melee all he/she wants, in fact a RDM is fairly nice for things like that since they will take pretty much no damage thanks to Phalanx and are able to tank half of a zone. But when you are trying to get shit done a RDM has better things to do than to pull out his/her sword and give the mob(s) extra TP. Refresh, haste, back-up curing, praying that this is the mob where an enfeeble will actually land: all better things to do. If a RDM wants to do some damage, throw out a sad nuke then go back to what you are supposed to be doing.
And yes, I am on old RDM. I beat Maat on RDM back when beating Maat was very hard.
Just have to say, <3bechyni
you started talking about feeling a sense of greatness from FFXI
I checked FFXIAH, saw you had an aegis, and figured you were for real, because there is literally no reason to go to the trouble of making one other than that feeling of accomplishment
then i posted about how that feeling of accomplishment is retarded
i know this is hard for you but to try to keep up
EDIT: lol @ big words like "spreadsheet" and "proponents" and "bridge club"
What happens when you're pushing 200 Kaggens on your main without Meikogai and you bring your mule because you need a COR?
That's right:
Spoiler: show
Spoilered for huge
cool man 22 black all the way
totally out-skilled kaggen
I am not arguing that a RDM doesn't have better things to do than melee. I'm saying it doesn't really matter in this particular game, where anything actually difficult enough to favor certain jobs and styles of play in a meaningful, win-or-lose kind of way is so profoundly unrewarding that changing the way you want to play in order to complete it more than once (for the sake of having done it, of course) is at least as foolish as wanting to melee as a RDM.
I would like it if FFXI rewarded the kind of play you're talking about. If we were playing that game, I would agree with you.
As it is, a really competitive melee RDM (if there indeed could even be such a thing in this spreadsheet of a game) is like the guy going 20-0 in team deathmatch with the combat knife. No matter how good he is he could have done better with another setup, but it's a hell of a lot funnier to watch.
Hi I'm scaevola I can't think coherently enough to say what I have to say in one post. I must go back and edit my posts two or three times before I get across whatever retarded nonsense point I am trying to make.
i'm capable of coming up with multiple ways of making a point, which is a skill i developed by reading books
i admit i am not always capable of coming up with all of them within 20 seconds of each other, though, and looking around here i understand why my not being a robot might throw you off
no hard feelings, friend bechyni![]()
Such a rough life Torlando lives, used for mule duties then gets beat for getting drops. Poor galka
