Have you tried anything under 80? I would like to see where the lower limit lies. I would also like to know the lowest limit for Geodes as well.

When I get bored of these birds, I'll set up shop on deco weaps, 79 - 81. If the limit is lv80, it'll be discernible.

I haven't yet since majority of my time after patch has been leveling + doing Limit stuff for various people, and then working on Bow NM trials. Wasn't the first SS of Geodes off a raptor in Cape Terrigan?

Velociraptors are level 66-69. I would imagine that they would want the Avatarites to come off of higher-level mobs, but it is entirely possible that they have the same drop rules as Geodes.

Well I've GoV'ed 4 jobs to 99 on Ornamental Weapons (dont ask), and I havent gotten one -ite off them, and they're 74-76...so that rules out anything below lv77.

Decorative Weapons are 79 to 81. Can anyone math out what level the mob was from the XP? (Would have to know how many people were in the party, with signet or not, etc.)

Presuming you killed a bunch of them, and the alliance count never changed...what were the 3 xp counts you were getting?

Idk, wasn't really paying attention to that. We only kill them in between Qilin pops for the stupid little book bonuses.

Looking at log, xp values:

6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15. Couldn't tell you why it varies so much, sorry.

Just got another from a 15 point mob.

Getting 36/42/47 on a 96 with a 99 in pt, got a garudite off a 42...only one so far tho.

doesnt rule out 79 just yet, however as a possible argument against it, the 3 geodes that have dropped all came from lv79 mobs.

These tests fail at failing.

OK, I think I found a good test subject. Greater Manticores are 76 to 79; if the level 80 hypothesis is correct, they should never drop Avatarites, just Geodes. Who is a bad enough dude to test them out? (Which is convenient if you have a fire trial to do on them.)

well expect to be doing a shitton of killing...

I killed "550 designated targets", and received 5 -ites for my efforts over a 10 hour period. I received 16 geodes as well. None of those 5 ite's came off a 79 mob though. Not that that's exactly a huge sample size.

On Seaboard Vultures I got 17 in about 5 1/2 hours.


What caused the drop discrepancy? Moon Phase? Weather? Mob Level? I dont know...
