You know, I've heard people keep saying this over the last couple of days but it doesn't even make sense in this situation. These guys rioted just to riot. Who gives a fuck that a gangbanger got killed? I mean srsly. People just have nothing better to do, which could probably be attributed to a recessed world economy. It's not that these people are mad about the economy really though, they're out in force just to be a part of the crowd.

That's sort of my point. It's not that they're consciously doing this to protest the economy, simply that the current world climate is going to foster an environment where things like this are more likely.

I don't need to save face. I made the infallible statement that these riots are the vast majority black people to which people replied "there are white people there too!" thinking it refuted my point, when in fact it agrees with it. I don't care to argue whether black people cause ghettos or not when undeniably the vast vast majority of those also are populated by black people which is logical evidence enough for me to say that it is a problem that they cause. Call me ignorant or dumb all you like, it does nothing to argue the points you're trying to make and ironically makes you look dumb, and ignorant.

What puts people in ghettos? Low wages, unemployment, hopelessness, cutting education funds, failure to police individuals and overall leaving certain areas to rot. People of all races end up in ghettos but if you must talk about black people in particular at least recognize that any race can wind up living in one.

In the US there are a number of reasons for ghettos not limited to the residual effects of Jim Crow laws, discrimination, generational poverty and media inattention. Pols simply leave certain neighborhoods underfunded because the middle and upper class have people that fight for the money to be used in their areas while the poor often get the short end of the stick due to their representatives having little power to compete with the almighty dollar. In the UK, it's more than likely for the same reasons.

So you wind up with ghettos that most individuals ignore until the trouble comes to their door. While this violence is out of hand and needs to be squashed, don't simply write it off as the creation of one race.

That's the easy road on a trail of complex issues that often get swept under the rug.

You act like I'm saying that riots and ghettos are just the product of black people, I'm not saying that at all. However, as I stated, I certainly believe these riots are the cause of black people (as supported by the fact that the vast, vast majority are black) and that ghettos are more common amongst black people because most ghettos are in fact full of black people. I'm no more comfortable with white trash people (chavs and rednecks) than I am with black people so I don't think it's fair for you to just shrug this off as me being racist and biased. If this thread was about chavs, rednecks, the EDL, etc, etc I would damn well be saying I think they're trash too.

Yeah, I'm mad. Cities and areas of cities in my country being turned into ghettos like those produced in America by African Americans disgusts me, let's pretend it's not true and it doesn't really happen and I'm just mad though.
