I loved III. gameplay was a bitch but the story made up for it so hard. probably my favorite story in the series, come to think of it.

Wait, what? Other than the whole magic bullshit caused by people being in pairs, i don't think i had any complaints about the gameplay. I mean, i guess being in pairs was a bit annoying anyway, but other than magic it wasn't really that big a deal.

My only complaint about III's gameplay was the super slow start. You have to max out grades in particular categories to really make a difference in your performance. Especially the number of attacks you can dish out and the speed increases.

I remember the last time I played III back in 2005, I told my buddy that the last large scale tactical battle vs team Luc/Sarah/Yuber would be ridiculously hard. When it came down to encountering Sarah and Yuber on the battlefield... Hugo three shot each of them in one attack sequence, it was soooo satisfying.

I could never really get into 3 until this last month. I remember entering that strategy battle and then being like "oh S!@t I forgot to save!". Luckily it was super easy and I finished the battle in about 5-6 turns with no deaths.

Playing through suikoden 5 right now. All I have to say is that if they do make another one they need to do away with the Silent Hero crap. It doesn't work very well at all in games with voice acting. We can still have a choice of what to say while someone voices the main character.

I always thought it was funny as hell everyone in the Suikoden universe were always so inspired by the main character and followed a man who never said shit while others made the decision on how to run the army.

yeah the magic bullshit is what drove me nuts. I want to use my fire spells! the skills were awesome though, I agree... even if they were slow to start. hitting like five times in a row was always satisfying. lucia was a beast too, I remember her taking down some strategy battles single-handed. and I never even used her in battle before that.

also, the true element runes were epic as fuck. having high-level spells on the first level of the rune (meaning you could cast it more times) was badass, and the final spell for each rune was sick. all I remeber is one with some giant dragons converging on the enemy and doing all sorts of ridiculous damage.

also, buy Suikoden 5. so worth it!

It's kinda funny how the true fire rune was the main one in the game and a lot of it's spells were unusable due to ally damage unless you had very specific setups. Final Flame onry.

Actually this is the best way to get Insanecyclone to buy Suikoden V.

I had to limit myself to tracks that wouldn't spoiler any of the story. There are better tracks but the title itself is a spoiler.

Ahh, I love the music in V. Also, the runes you get by the end of V were bitching.

I think Overcoming the Grief is my favorite track. I got the bad ending on my first play through because I missed one of the easy to miss characters and it was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    suikoden 5 spoilers
    spoilers spoilers psoilers
    spoilers spoilers spoiler
    Spoiler: show

My favorite scene in the game so sad, and the music is beautiful.

And to the person who was talking about the voice acting, I agree. I don't have an issue with silent heroes, but keeping the hero silent in 5 with all the voice acting just felt SO FUCKING FORCED. Didn't ruin the game or anything, but it was pretty annoying.
