I'll start.
Thank you so tired of ritards bumping the skyrim thread for dumb shit.
Just started playing this today, wondering if anyone could recommend an hd texture pack thats easy to install
Some of the larger conversion mods may or may not be compatible with Texture mods. But I agree, a lot of the oblivion mods are kind of too complex to be bothered with. (Not that I technically don't know, I just don't have the patience I would of had 5 years ago)
Edit: Same thing with GTA4 mods. Fuckin hell - the featured Gamespy article had me excited, but it doesn't work at all D:
I haven't tried anything but texture mods atm, wanted to try the game as intended for a bit first to see what I liked and what I didn't.
I found Qarl's texture pack, and that seems to be pretty nice, though I still have seen very little of the game.
Excellent link for installing FCOM:

Guy has 4 or 5 videos that detail the whole process; great for mod beginners if you ever decide to overhaul the game.
your article help me a lot.Hope we can be friend and play together.
A really nice total conversion for oblivion can be found here: http://www.nehrim.de/ As I said, it's a total conversion, meaning you're not in oblivion's world anymore. Its installer will make a copy of some of ob's base files to a new folder to keep the mod clean, as nearly all normal mods for ob will make it crash (certain mods that don't use .esp files, like texture mods, can work, maybe).
Something for you guys to play through when "done" with ob heh. The creators of this have done an excellent job at creating a huge open and explorable world, and voice acted nearly everything (in german, but there's english subtitles). There's caves and ruins littering everywhere with unique bosses every so often, random places with nice touches that were never really done in ob (hard to describe; signs of life with broken stuff on the roads or in caves, sometimes a corpse with monsters around it, abandoned carts with crates, etc, just to the side of the road, among other things). Very fun to play.
