Given it's a BluRay, I'm hoping they'll have a box somewhere you can check that says "Use original scenes". That CGI Yoda looks so out of place.....

I'm probably going to end up buying this collection because I hardly own any of them. Played the shit out of my uncle's VHS copies of the original three, got Phantom Menace on VHS somewhere...., and Attack of the Clones was the first-ever DVD I purchased. #3 was so bad I didn't even bother with it outside of seeing it in the theatre.

I'd wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday at this point. As much as I love Star Wars, paying $90+, even for a set, doesn't seem worth it at the moment.

I got the LotR extended Blu-Ray and that was worth EVERY penny. Might spring for this even though I'll never watch I or II again.

$90 for the set works out to $15 per movie, which isn't too bad for Blue-ray, and that's before all the special features.

I would say, vote with your wallet and don't buy this since it doesn't include the original trilogy. How many different editions of these movies already exist? And still none can be said to be definitive in the most basic sense.

I have the 'Complete' Blade Runner and Aliens movies Blu-Rays. They include all editions of the films. It's nice to have all that extra making-of crap but there's something special about watching the original, un-touched up, version of the first trilogy. (Although to be fair, original theater version of Blade Runner sucked balls)

Still, that's the difference between Ridley Scott and a douche-salad fagasauras rex like George Lucas.

Does an original copy of the original three even exist any more? Any time I'm lucky enough to catch these movies it always has the extra cgi shit added in; it's quite infuriating...

When they where first released to DVD there was a copy at best buy w/all the movies in regular and special editions, both remastered. The stand alone movies also had both. They might be hard to find now, since Lucas is like Disney and only prints so many per run but those are what I have and I'll keep 'em till they degrade and are useless.

    Rumors, grain of salt, etc.

    http://io9.com/5835951/darth-vader-w...n-for-yourself

Darth Vader will lose a little more of his dignity in Star Wars original trilogy Blu-rays. Listen for yourself!

Lucas had promised that fans would have a few new details here and there to notice in his newly remastered HD versions of his classic trilogy — and now the first details are leaking out. And fans are not happy. Some of the fans have gotten hold of the Blu-ray footage, and they're dissecting it at TheForce.net, the Blu-Ray.com forums and the DVDTalk forums. And a couple of changes to the soundtrack have already become apparent, at least if some recent leaks are to be believed.

Most notably, "Vader now screams NOOOOOOOO when he throws the Emperor" in Return of the Jedi. And it sounds, quite frankly, kind of silly. Check out an mp3 of the new sound effect.

If those rumors are true, how the fuck can george lucas really think shit like that is "ok" or "better then the original".

I swear I feel like George Lucas only took the credit for star wars and never really had anything substantial to do with the script or dialogue at all...

Nobody likes to be reminded of how bad Vader's 'NOOOOOOOOOO' at the end of episode 3 was, which is exactly the reason Lucas retconned it into Jedi.
