I believe that's true. Due to limitations with the engine.
I watched shroud play it a bit last night and it looks super clunky. I just don't think the CS engine was built for the BR craze.

Admittedly, getting a pistol/smg and camping is the best strategy but that's for every BR game.

If they came out with that game mode like 8-10 years ago I think it'd be a huge hit, but looks lacking in comparison to some of the other BRs we have now. New map on PUBG, Blops has good movement, and games like Spellbreak are trying to change it up a bit.

Free as long as you don't mind being in the matchmaking queue full of smurfs and cheaters due to it being free for disposable accounts.

With all the monetizing crap in the game nowadays I guess Valve just said fuck-it and wants to see if the free players will bite for cosmetic crap, crates, and the mission packs.

Unless you're on a LAN party it's still going to feel like a tic rate system anyways due to the varying pings between all the players, but that should be nice for the eSports scene. Also a little cheeky them calling it CS2 after this would be...the fifth CS game? 1.6, CZ, Source, GO, 2.
