Couldn't agree more. Although I dislike the tone of the person speaking on behalf of the hetero pride day, the idea itself is legit. If we're going to allow one subset of people their day in the sun then ALL subsets need to have their own "I'm special" day.

Not sure how those first three are relevant, but yes to the fourth of July (except i keep the lights on, personally). I can't imagine why someone would be proud that they happened to be born in (insert country they were born in). There's another word for being proud of every arbitrary quality about yourself that you had no hand in accomplishing: arrogance.

Uh I'm pretty sure those parades in sf and nyc are always enormous, as well as a pride parade like the pr day parade. They are obnoxious for the most part and people always act like assholes.

there's no such thing as shoving gayness in someone's face. every day, 364 days a year is a straight pride parade, shoving straightness into LGBT people's faces. if you think "acting normal" means "acting straight," then just admit you don't think being gay is normal. straights get so very bent out of shape over gay pride, which is kind of funny; I wish you were more secure in your own sexuality.

Because you're not given the same rights and freedoms as other humans. Pride Parades aren't just for the marching, it's for learning about things that affect LGBT people in the city/state/world. And if sexual preferences weren't anyone else's business why aren't all sexual orientations treated equally?

Not everyone who goes to these is naked and marching through the streets screaming. Not even the majority is. Small minority =/= majority.
