I thought server optimizations were always targeted for around 1.20.

1.18 was the initial content patch.

1.19 was focused on materia crafting, fixing the battle system, more content and beginning job adjustments (now just to be outlined, and implemented in 1.20).

1.20 was going to be jobs + server changes. First priority was fixing hella broken game mechanics, then after that hella broken infrastructure.

Ahh I see. I hope you're right and server fixes haven't taken a backburner.

We have received absolutely no information regarding the timeline for this.... It may be 1.20, it may be 1.25. Closer to the latter than the former if you ask me. I don't think they have been moved back or anything though, it just takes a long-ass time to program.

To be honest, I thought 'My Little Chocobo' was just a joke, although I don't really care either way.

I'm not really planning on getting involved at least until the server upgrades are finished, but it's looking like the game's going to be great fun before long. I'm a bit disappointed the strongholds are raids rather than open events, but I'm sure they'll be great either way.

For me, I'm still unhappy with the game because the game still feels clunky to me and the UI (although they are working on it) sucks imo. Simple things make the game infinitely better, though. Things like drag and drop, being able to add maybe a 2nd row to your UI hot bar are some amazing things that I'd love to see take place sooner than later. Content is something that should come with time.

So this is where the game will be a year after it was released... Will it be up to snuff? lol
It'll be ready to be released! Erm, wait. Seriously, I'm close to recommending this to my friends. I've actually quite enjoyed having a year-long beta where my character doesn't get wiped. =)

One of my r/l friends already got back into the game. Says its definitely improved since last time he played (back in december). Been helping him gear up and run quests with my lowbies.

I'm content with this, but still looking for linkshell management improvements and tools. It is very disappointing that the game lacks basic stuff like this still. I fear the game will be end up being polished where content and gameplay is concerned but the UI will feel obviously neglected, creating a disconnect between how you play and why you play. It's already there and it will get worse if they don't catch up on other parts of their development.

Interesting find. I'm pretty sure the devs have already said the fix is done for 1.19, hopefully it was just an oversight in this list.

The amount of stuff being worked on is pretty massive... It's the only reason I'm not all that bummed on how long it's going to take.

They're slowly updating it, and stuff like more LS options have been already mentioned as planned in the future patches.

They mentioned making a way to display all 3 bars at once at some point. The higher my level gets the more I want this implemented asap (along with getting rid of the ability descriptions, which they already did but chose not to implement -.-).

So I never really played my lower level jobs, and I got bored of doing CON, so I started fighting like, level 12 mobs on my level 4 or 5 Gladiator and was getting a ton of SP/XP; what I'm thinking is that the abolishment of physical levels will make it impossible to do that. Am I reasoning right? And what was the need for us to get rid of physical levels, anyway?

Edit: Well, I guess the whole changing from melee to mage makes it difficult with physical levels and points being the way they are, but couldn't your stats still change to...whatever they would be at your current physical level...and still experience the same limitations that your rank has? IOW, just get rid of the point allocation system, but still keep your physical level so that you can catch your lower ranks up faster.

Because they were universal, they didn't have as much of an impact on your performance as they could have. The new dev team feels that the stat increases need to be more important, so they're making them class-specific. They also felt that once it is changed, the two don't need to raise separately anymore, so they will be linked to ranks from now on.
