Maybe. I'm hoping since the patch is about a month and a half off if SE will give us 1-2 tidbits of info a week again. There's a lot of stuff they can cover.

Theres just no point to really get invested in 14 right now, especially with all the change going on, the gameplay isn't going to be finalized anytime soon. I think they won't be able to keep up with those who are hardcore, not even a month has passed since 1.18 and people seem already bored of the dungeons.

To be perfectly honest, I am going to predict the materia system is going to fail at keeping people busy.

I am having fun with current SP changes, Leves are really fun now that you don't abandon them, we changes region every reset so we don't get bored pretty fast. Average about 20-30k/cycle on r30 leves optimal rank (not including Behest which is an easy 3-4k on neglected areas). Advancing in steady pace, not slow also not fast and makes equips from those midrange NMs means something because they lasts for quite a while! Toto-rak dungeon itself is easy 10-12k for full clearance.

Well when they only have added 1 level cap dungeon and 95% of the people who have endured this mess are Rank 50.....yeah people will get bored fast.

Because when I ran my shell before I quit, it had over 60 members and at least 50 of them were Rank 50 in SOMETHING by the time i quit. I guess I just had a batch of "go getters" then. All there has been to do is level and since I quit they have added two dungeons, so if you arent rank 50, you are doing it wrong or arent very dedicated to the game (read: casual). Hell even all my casuals were Rank 50 but a handful. I dunno......I think this way because I experienced it firsthand, but on Figaro almost everyone that I knew from the other shells were 50 too. And this was in March.......

Leviathan battle 1.20?

The Bowl of Embers map is used during one of the missions. The mission you meet Ifrit face to face. You either had to fight the beastkin or parley with them. I remember it vividly as I had to parley for about 2 hours before I was able to win. (Time limitation on instances.)

As for the 2nd map, I wonder if its the location of the tropical beach in the summer event wallpaper.

I'm not sure how anyone can not think this. Some people on my server are so close to having rank 50 across the board (crafts, battle, etc.) that they have buckled under and starting getting their alts to rank 50 across the board. Why? I don't know. Ability to 2 box as any class just in case? But there is literally little else to do.

I don't get the logic of getting everything ranked to 50, and then doing it on your alt? There are other games to play. You can't be that bored and love the game that much.

My only R50 is my fisher. Upcoming is my Thaum who is at 35 atm.

It's what I've been saying all along. I don't know why they being stubborn of adding that shit without finalizing stat algorithms (yeah I know they saying it will be dealt with in 1.19 but I still skeptical if they will work).
Anyways, it's still a type of content that's there but not very visible or satisfying imo. If there was tons of interesting gear around people probably be more excited to improve their favorite pieces but as it is gear has no value and this certainly wont help.

Go rummage through as many random characters on the Lodestone as you can that have at least somewhat of a recent history and tell me the average highest rank. It sure as hell isn't going to be 50. I know it's hard for a lot of people around here to fathom, but there is such a thing as casual players... and if you actually joined pickup groups instead of running a linkshell full of like-minded people, you would get a more realistic cross-section of players. 95% having rank-50s is lol. I wish that was true. Maybe then I'd come across slightly less people who have no idea how anything works in this game.
