I think that it was a bad idea to cut phone service to BART travelers. Bad precedent to start. Slippery slope and all that.

I'm not sure, however, why the protestors were so hamstrung by this. I'm almost positive there were protests before the advent of cell phones. I also don't know how the protestors taking the BART actually thought they'd be able to hear anyone on the phone because that train system is very, very loud.

since when are usernames, passwords and emails in the phone books? I don't care about address/phone book but the username password could be used to break into bank accounts or other things for people that don't change that information and use the same thing on everything.

Sure they're stupid for using the same password/usernames on multiple sites but that doesn't mean they deserve that potential to happen.

There comes a point in life where remembering multiple passwords for multiple logins is almost impossible. Either you write them all down (which is also behaviour "deserving to be hacked"), you use the same password for everything, or you keep having to reset your password on everything because you forgot it.

People get shot for waiving anything at cops. It doesn't matter if it's a knife, a broken bottle or a cell-phone. If you make a threatening gesture to at someone who is trained to react to bullets, they DO NOT wait the extra fraction of a second it takes to get shot to make sure it's not a gun.
