I think that it was a bad idea to cut phone service to BART travelers. Bad precedent to start. Slippery slope and all that.

I'm not sure, however, why the protestors were so hamstrung by this. I'm almost positive there were protests before the advent of cell phones. I also don't know how the protestors taking the BART actually thought they'd be able to hear anyone on the phone because that train system is very, very loud.

Sure they're stupid for using the same password/usernames on multiple sites but that doesn't mean they deserve that potential to happen.
if you use the same username and password for everything you deserve to be hacked.

There comes a point in life where remembering multiple passwords for multiple logins is almost impossible. Either you write them all down (which is also behaviour "deserving to be hacked"), you use the same password for everything, or you keep having to reset your password on everything because you forgot it.

People get shot for waiving anything at cops. It doesn't matter if it's a knife, a broken bottle or a cell-phone. If you make a threatening gesture to at someone who is trained to react to bullets, they DO NOT wait the extra fraction of a second it takes to get shot to make sure it's not a gun. Also, there is no such thing as "flesh-wound" training. If you're shooting your gun as a cop you aim for center mass or head to ensure the threat is ended immediately and permanently.

The protest that was originally planned (sponsored by a terrorist group) involved putting hundreds if not thousands of people in confined places around operational heavy machinery that, by design, would make innocent people angry. Forget about holding a match over a pool of gasoline for the protest, it also meant that a bunch of police got paid overtime to baby-sit.

The first protest was about an alleged unjust killing. What a way to show respect by staging another because (complementary) enhanced cell phone signals were cut off for a day that a terrorist organization told people to go there.

SF-ers have it so good they manufacture problems to be outraged about. SMUG-ALERT!

You just described a police state this isn't Syria and if the cops can't differentiate between an iPhone and a gun they shouldn't be on the fucking police force.

I can't believe at the amount of stupidity in your post.

That would require things like time, planning, coordination, commitment, etc.

Today's protestor just wants to look up whatever small issue of the day is convenient on facebook, go someplace and annoy a bunch of people for a few hours in the afternoon, tweet a bunch of meaningless tripe and retarded pictures of them "fighting the power" on their iphones and be home in time for dinner.

It's typical San Francisco/Berkley bullshit. Hell they'd probably protest if they couldn't get starbucks due to a power outage.

Am I missing something? They installed this as a courtesy and then shut it down for a while to try to protect people and everyone is in an uproar?

Imagine the horror however, of being stuck on subways that aren't moving because of protesters, and not being able to check BG while you're sitting idle.

    That would suck.

No I just described a place were we don't live in constant fear of some retarded cop shooting at people because he doesn't know the difference between a phone and a gun. The idea that we as a society have to cater to the lowest common denominator in cops that can't handle stressful situations is absurd. And you're retarded for thinking otherwise.

Seriously, you are mentally challenged if you think only the L.C.D. would wait long enough to get shot every time a P.O.S. with the direct attention of a cop decides it's OK to reach for shit in their pockets or make ANY sudden movements. Go look on youtube at all the cop car video recordings of dumb shits that pull out their (silver/metallic colored) cell phones and wave them at cops like guns as they are being approached. They get killed and juries find it justified... Not a police state or dumb cops (go chant F-Da-Police to show your badass), just idiots and incompetents like the drunk hobo that the police have to respond to like fkn babysitters.

Btw, Chicago drug dealers are the deadliest threat to the police in my town and most of MN, so I wouldn't be surprised if the only po-po they can get to do the job out there would have you think normal cops are L.C.D...

When he says "Chicago drug dealers" he means "Every black guy I see in Minnesota".
