Well, we still don't know if one God in particular made Deathwing go nuts, or if it's all of them. Is it C'thun like chogall? Is is the one sleeping at the bottom of the sea that was also hinted to be the cause of the emerald dream ( http://www.wowwiki.com/N%27Zath ), or is it a new one that is unrelated?

It's not impossible that he has his own personal old god, but I think we will deal with a spawn rather than the god itself (like that one in twilight highland).

Also, I really hope Deathwing's lair is on goblin island...I want to go back there. It would be nice to have a fight over the maelstrom

I read this all the time, but I never had the impression that you killed Ragnaros in molten core. In most fantasy setting, demons and elementals are banished back to their dimension when they are "killed" (especially when its incomplete/partial summoning), and that's pretty much what happened.

Ragnaros isn't particularly interesting, and bringing it back might not have been a good idea, but there is nothing wrong with the lore here.

Gameplay has always trumped lore so I really don't have a problem with "Only a setback!" bosses popping up here and there. And yeah MC-version Raggy was banished rather than killed, since he was only summoned in an incomplete, weakened aspect by his Majordomo there. Face it, you didn't really kill the Lich King or Kil'Jaeden, either.

Still holding out hope for a post-Deathwing raid. Blizzcon should hold the answers there.

This is how I understood it as well. The WoWWiki seems to agree:

After being defeated in Molten Core, Ragnaros was banished back to the Elemental Plane. He is now located in Sulfuron Keep, his seat of power within the Firelands. He and his armies will be launching a full scale assault on Mount Hyjal, attempting to burn the now-regrowing World Tree. It seems that he has allied with Deathwing, therefore ending his war against Neferian's forces, and uniting them as a single army. He would be one of two Elemental Lords allied with Deathwing, the other being Al'Akir. His assault on World Tree is run by several of his lieutenants (notably Baron Geddon) assisted by troops of the Twilight's Hammer clan and various members of Twilight dragonflight. According to a series of quests in Mount Hyjal, the assault of Ragnaros was repulsed with the help of some recently revived Eternals and Guardians of Hyjal.

He makes an appearance during the quest N [82] The Firelord in Mount Hyjal. He will make another appearance in Patch 4.2.0 as the final boss of the Firelands outdoor raid.

And I dunno, I always thought Rag was pretty cool. It even plays into my nostalgia a bit since I have fond memories of vanilla WoW and Molten Core. Well, except for all that god damn trash.

Yeah, the real lich king still exists. We killed arthas. And kj was sucked back in as you can see when you beat him in swp.

Given the product slate, I think 4.3 will be the last tier this expansion (though we might get a Ruby Sanctum style thing to tide us over till 5.0) And, if it is, I am disappointed with the quantity of content in this expansion. "We want multiple short raids per tier" became "we will release one short raid per tier", "we want a faster, smaller content cycle" became "we want a smaller content cycle".

So wait, this seems all too soon to be going after Deathwing. Is he still flying around ganking people everywhere? And what happened to N'zoth? He was supposed to have a role in all of this afaik. I mean, at least in WotLK there was some continuity in the story of the raids. First you take out his fortress of Naxxramas, then you go after whatever dabblings Arthas had in Ulduar, and finally you train in the Crusaders Coliseum before going after the big boss himself.

What did killing Ragnaros in his homeworld have anything to do with Deathwing?

If you do Hyjal, Deathwing appears at the very beginning of the zone and summons Rag.

Is there any easy way to see the look of previous tier sets? I am new to the game and only have gear from quests/npc/dungeons almost to za/zg no raiding yet.

wowhead features 3d previews of armor/weapons. You just need to visit the armor set page (example: http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=-355) and click 'view in 3D'). Requires latest flash versions or you can use their crummy java applet if that's your thing.

This is so cool for legendary users. Updates after the item is obsolete, you can still transmogrify the same item type to retain the neat graphic. Dragonwrath 4 lyfe!

My words were a bit harsh, I just don't find elemental lord as interesting as other big names (old gods, the burning legion and all the nasties from the twisted nether, titan, dragon, arthas, illidan..etc)

Ragnaros coming back still makes a lot of sense in the context of cataclysm however. Elementals going haywire is what happened to Draenor, and Deathwing is attempting to do the same thing on Azeroth (which ultimately was the plan designed by Old Gods to free themselves from their prison)

You can also apparently transmogrify a gun into a bow/crossbow which will change the sound on it as well! (My gf haaaaaaaates gun sounds) You can't change other weapons or armor into different types though, guns/crossbows/bows are the exception.
