I guess I'll go solo Lord Boner for his claymore, I can't think of any other 2 hander I would like to wield to tank with. Current Cata 2 handers are tiny.

Fuck the claymore.

Might go with the standard issue starter DK blade. No other sword is more fitting.

Failing that, that sword in southpark, Slayer of the lifeless?

Last patch before expansion? Really this "soon"? I mean soon as in it feels like Blizzard hasnt really given us shit all in this expansion and now they will want another 50$ from me after this patch? I would at least want to see Queen Azshara and an Old God in this expansion. Kind of like how SWP came in after Illidan who was the many bad guy focus, or how Ruby Sanct came in after LK (even though it wasnt that huge of a raid).

The whole changing gear look thing is kind of cool, but we'll see how it goes. I liked the idea at the start of Aion, but the way they did it was rough, as you could only change certain pieces of armor (like non tier pieces, etc etc). But again, if you can change stats from tier it would def break up the feeling of being one of a crowd of sheep. I hate seeing EVERY DK wearing the gear I am.


But seriously lol @ this patch if it's the last before the expansion. Soooo we got a total of 2 new end bosses (Cho'gall/Sinestra and Deathwing) while we got recycled Rag/Ony/Nef?

Don't worry, we'll have more blue posts saying it won't work on a handful of other stuff probably. I HOPE it doesnt work on pvp gear, it will make figuring out who you should focus on sight sometimes really damn hard. It's easy to tell now when you see someone roll up in arena or pvp wearing questing blues or a pve weapon and shoulders.

So wait, this seems all too soon to be going after Deathwing. Is he still flying around ganking people everywhere? And what happened to N'zoth? He was supposed to have a role in all of this afaik. I mean, at least in WotLK there was some continuity in the story of the raids. First you take out his fortress of Naxxramas, then you go after whatever dabblings Arthas had in Ulduar, and finally you train in the Crusaders Coliseum before going after the big boss himself.

What did killing Ragnaros in his homeworld have anything to do with Deathwing?

Ulduar had nothing to do with the Lich King, it's Bronzebeard who got sidetracked in Stormpeak, found Yogg Saron and eventually Algalon (the story was continued later in Hall of origination). It's a great side story, but you can't say it's related to the rest.

Cataclysm started with Deathwing freeing himself from Deepholm, flying all over the world destroying everything, summoning Ragnaros and teaming up with Al'Akir to create a disbalance between the elements (a similar story happened in Draenor/outland), brought his son, daughter and wife back to life to life (who turn out to be controlling BoT in the shadow). In the end, it's basically a bunch of character corrupted by the Old Gods who ended up teaming up under Deathwing's banner (also corrupted by old god).

Deathwing disappeared after his fight against Alexstrasza when he was forced to retreat because of a wound.

I was under the impression Arthas had some connection, minor it was, to Ulduar because of the Val'kyr who appears in the Yogg-Saron fight. That and Yogg-Saron's visions involved Arthas as well interrogating somebody, but that could just be old god smoke and mirrors.

And if Deathwing's story is seriously going from a 4.0 questline and picking up with a 4.3 raid then thats just pathetic. I get that Cataclysm is all about Deathwing raging all over Azeroth and everybody needing to clean up after him, but thats a pretty bland villain.

There is minor link with vrykul/valkyr, twilight cult, saronites (that one is a bit stretched since its everywhere), but there is no significant plotline or alliance between both.

It's not impossible that yogg saron's madness is partially the reason why the lich king was lured there, but still.

Yogg was originally supposed to be in a nerubian raid zone, and tie in with arthas with his saronite somehow, but they dropped all that.

Honestly, news of the "final" boss coming 2 raid content patches in dosn't surprise me because i've generally found this to be a lousy expansion. 7 bosses + heroic modes does not make a raid instance and this transmogrification is just pandering to casuals because they've run out of ideas about how to actually develop content anymore.

The question is a bit off topic for this thread, but yes. The item must be in your possession, and you have to be able to use (wear it), at the time of the Transmogrification.
