Patch 4.3 Content Preview

I think my biggest questions going forward will be:

Is the formula going to change?
How is the immersion going to come back? there is very little reason to leave town anymore.
I've been running heroics since they were introduced in TBC in 2007, its a little old now, throwing more at me isn't exactly helping your cause to get me to resub.
Reps do not interest me, been there, done that for a long time.
Dailies are ok for maybe a month at best before becoming tedious and bothersome.

The game is just a giant ball of frustration under its current forumla, people only seem to play 2-3 months before flaming out and sending guilds to go on a great recruitment drive. If you're trying to progress into heroic modes you often will have to backtrack to get new members up to speed.

To me it doesn't matter how epic the world event for next x-pack will be or 4.3, the final raid patch of cata. If i'm going to ever play WoW again, I need more to do, more of the same is not good enough, will not be good enough.

I had a lot of fun playing WoW, i'm not going to say the game is bad but they need to step their game up, I would love to play WoW again at some point but if they're just going to keep on with the same formula i'll just stay unsubbed.

The patch in between TBC and WOLTK where all the zombies were running around was a world event type patch with nothing really added, I think talent changes were in this patch though. It could be something like this, with no REAL content. For it to be a 4.4.0 would be strange though if it were something like that.

World event before BC, Wrath and Cata didn't get a double digit update, it was always a triple digit.

The only update that got double digit were the major raid area, with the exception of zandalari. This is not to say we will get something incredibly big, but I believe we can expect more than an event.

I don't remember much bridge gear, but then again I was in a guild that did bt/sunwell until the nerf and then started leveling alts to 70.

Ah I misremembered, it wasn't bridge gear as an upgrade from karazhan gear, but rather just a set of new armor for people still rolling around in level 70 dungeon gear.

There were also some nice flavor items thrown into the event.

The 'epics' from that event were significantly worse than than level 70 blues from normal dungeons. Ex: compare this epic mail set to this blue dungeon set. I don't know what the point of them was supposed to be.

I have to agree, things need to change because WoW is bleeding slowly right now. We had 4 ppl up and quit the guild in the past 2 days because of how boring it all is (they said they would rather sit around and do nothing till GW2/ToR comes out then play). And I can't really blame them, we were making progress on heroics...but honestly fighting heroic Rhyolith is the same as fighting normal Rhyolith, same for Shannox...it's just boring.

New players are still having trouble with the first 30 minutes and five levels of the game, more hand holding is coming for very basic concepts like moving, questing, fighting, and looting.

That made me chuckle.

I will admit that a new FFA Arena will be hysterical

Probably still filled with daily quests, only you can only do them 7 times a month, thus dragging out the content even longer!

Gurubashi arena is always a good time. I don't think I've ever had a bad time there.

I can't say it's content I'm really excited about, but I like the idea, and it could be a nice addition to the game if done properly. Gurabashi 2.0 sound particularly awesome, I just hope you wont be able to team up and respawn.


Also, Chtun's eye? Mist-shrouded? I wonder if there will be old god crazyness in the mix.

If the DK starter set isn't there day 1 it'll be a complete failure on blizzard's fault. Almost every single DK is asking for it.

From day 1 I knew it would be handy town gear. I only saved the visible bits (so no ring/neck) too.
