I'm with you, I'd prefer new gear coming from new content. Old gear is old and should become obsolete, but sadly official forum fartcakes cry about that.

New content requires expansion, expansion requires memory and that's something they limited themselves to, best they can do is revise old content and make it slightly useful until Dec, 21st 2012 then hope everyone's dead so they don't have to worry about bringing in newer content to the game, that might actually cost more then 400$ to develop.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm all for revising some of the af2+1 and af1+1 so they're actually somewhat useful. But meh, idk. AF3 is supposed to replace AF1 and 2, except for the few good macro pieces (rdm hat, thf hands, etc).

idk. I want to fill my inventory with gear that multiple jobs can use, not just one job. -_-

Unless they're willing to give us another satchel inventory.

Wonder if you can do support job restrictions, then kill the NMs to get them back and still get the special items to drop even after you've regained SJs via the old method. Or if SJs have to currently be inactive (i.e. you haven't killed the NMs and regained them yet) to get those items to drop.

Wyrm Finger Gauntlets +2 : These do suck, but 4% Haste would make them your best Acc TPing piece. Where does DRG need that much Acc? Damned if I know, but I'm going to say Voidwatch.

Wyrm Brais +2 : Increase the Enmity loss from High Jump even more.

Wyrm Greaves +2 : VIT+10 on them takes them to VIT+15 for Camlann's maybe?
The helm would be an obvious bonus. I'm not sure they can program the body to work in that manner. Notice how any enhancement is typically upon JA use or duration. Not sure how much ACC DRG needs with new content since we get 3 tiers of ACC bonuses. DRG don't use High jump at all since Soul Jump is a beast (Super jump will usually suffice for tanking purposes since we're unlikely to be the sole DD). For CT, yes; however, unfavorable pDIF situations might favor the ATT from AF3+2 (I have not looked into this).

This. My group is doing Limbus again off and on for miscellaneous +1s and getting some random Homam/Nasheria in case of any updates, but also because it was a really great event.

Also, assuming I'm not getting whooshed, probably any mage + DD job can destroy limbus now (NW probably needing two mages because of last floor). There me a couple of zones that aren't duo friendly, but I haven't found them yet.

I would like if each job had some pieces of the AF1/2/3 to wear at 99, I like the designs on them all since its basically the series look for the job.

Every single Apollyon zone can be soloed, I did it all on BLU. Every tier1 Temenos zone can be soloed, did it on BLU and the tier2 Temenos zones I haven't tried solo but I've duoed them all on BLU+RDM.

I don't whoosh people, I was just curious if there were any good strategies. Some things are not very duo friendly, I was also wondering if some areas have better drop rates for certain items than others. (I am specifically looking for SCH upgrade items.)

BLU and RDM you say? I happen to have that combination...

I apologize then since I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just find it hard to tell if I people are being snide and trying to whoosh, or being serious lately .

As for SCH, it's hard to say a specific area for you to go for because despite what I've read and people have said about certain areas dropping better we always ended up with RDM, SMN, BST, PUP. Almost without fail and no matter the zone that's what we end up with. I looked at the wiki and don't really remember seeing Electrum Stud all that often, but I know when we have it's been in SE which is extraordinarily easy to clear with a duo now. The only problem I could forsee is floor 2 because of slashing damage. For every other floor, it's not harder than keeping yourself buffed and going about like you normally would. We full cleared with 3 in 35min iirc, but floor 2 slowed us down to do to my wife only having 1 dagger on her at the time, and my polearm being mad gimp; kraken was for all intents and purpose blind to me on WAR. Our friend on WHM clubbed the whole time as well except on floor 3 so he didn't get hit by paralyze. Between Hi and Ukkos we two shotted every boss. Other than that, I'd just look at the different zone floors and see which has the best chance at SCH and go there; that's pretty much how we farmed for a long time and it worked well enough.

Interesting. I know that the Gravedigger floor of SE Apollyon there was an extremely high chance of getting Ancient Brass, I would go as far as to say that I don't remember that floor not producing an Ancient Brass for us. I was hoping that there would be an equally high chance of SCH, I am silly sometimes. lol

That zone wouldn't be too bad for me, my Dagger is capped thanks to leveling THF and I have a Twilight Knife, not to mention that my Polearm skill isn't that bad thanks to procing. (I probably should attempt to cap it. It is amazing how Square is able to defeat my OCD with terrible skill up rates...)

I remember a long while back when the Event Forum still existed of a thread dedicated to, and possibly titled, Low man limbus strategies. I know Kaeko posted there a lot if that helps to find it. I imagine you can use the level 75 strategies to make shit ridiculously easy at level 90.

Might this be the thread to which you were referring?

I also found some Limbus stuff on Kaeko's Livejournal of awesome.

Very interesting, lots to read through... Looks like Atum is going to have to get cracking on finishing his BLM, because SCH nukes don't seem to cut it anymore.

I bet SCH nukes are going to be fine in Limbus. Level 90 SCH has all the nukes BLM75 had (and more), and they're dramatically more MP efficient about it if you play it that way.

I melee+mage duo (DNC/NIN + WHM/THF) every Apollyon zone except Kings, and I BLM solo (twice) Kings. I use H2H on the blunt damage-type floor and if I have to kill the no-melee-damage Gigas, I TP on Opo-opos and use Aeolian Edge/Holy/Banish.

Yup, that's the thread! I imagine everything you need to low man limbus @ 90 is in that thread. I'd reserve mage duo for anything you can't do melee+mage though like Byrth and some others have said for the sheer speed factor.

In limbus? Surely you're joking. Is your SCH terribly geared or something?

I haven't been in Limbus since the cap was 75, but after doing some events nuking on SCH versus BLMs after the cap went up to 85 has not given me the confidence that SCH has a competitive damage output compared to BLM anymore.

I solo'd 1 or 2 of the zones on SCH back at 75, you'll be fine.

Only real advantage BLM has over SCH anyway is ga spells, elemental celerity, and +2 set bonus. Am I forgetting anything?

EDIT: BLM does have blizz5, forgot about that one. That is a pretty steep advantage, especially if you were comparing in abyssea.
