That's another problem with these shows...At a lot of places there are policies just like that. The Vons in my area won't allow more than 3 of the same coupon, and none of the stores here will allow a negative balance (you always have to pay tax).

Yeah, this is a part of coupon fraud they would like to keep quiet. Some older systems have unusual coding that allow you to use one coupon for something else. Think an example I saw was using dove bodywash coupon that applied for travel size dove shampoo. I caught part of an episode where the lady didn't have a real shopping list, instead she had a long list of UPCs she could abuse. IMO, these people are going to ruin coupon use for the average person who needs to save a few bucks.

I doubt it. Coupon limits and setting a minimum price of $0 on a per item basis would foil this just fine.

Because they rely on the majority of the public to be good upstanding citizens and not rob the place blind.

Do american coupons not say "one coupon per customer per visit, not applicable with any other offer"? or something like that

My uncle and aunt do this in a non retard way. They post pics on facebook and statuses of what they got for how much. It's usually useful things like 5 tubes of toothpaste 7steaks etc etc. Random but useful things in one trip. They rarely spend more than 30$.

There's an image guide floating around 4chan for a long time now that details how to make fake manufacturer's coupons for use in self-check out. As long as it's under $5 off per item (and a certain amount per trip), no one will come check on it. It's illegal if you get caught, but if you're not a retard you won't. You can make them for almost any product.

    >_> You americans are crazy. Up here in Canuck land (at least my province), if you use a coupon on something and that coupon is worth more than your item (say, toothpaste is on sale for $0.75 and you got a $1.00 off coupon), you only save the $0.75. You don't bank extra cause your coupon is worth more. Also, any coupon that would amount to you getting the item for free requires you to still pay all forms of tax on it, unless otherwise stated. And thankfully, most coupons are "Limit of 1 per item, per customer".

Sadly, we have an "Extreme Coupon" lady where I live. She saves like $80-$90 on her $100 purchase. Usually "manufacturer" coupons, and decent dollar amounts too. Like the ones you get when you call to complain about their product. She doesn't shop my register (thank god, I'd refuse to ring her through in electronics), but I have heard stories from the front end of having to shut the lane down she's in cause it takes a good 20-30 minutes sometimes to ring her through. She also tends to go through newer cashiers, so they'll fuck up her order once, have to void and re-do it.

My ex-gf used to use coupons to get awesome deals. Not as extreme as the people on the show, just mostly bought stuff we would actually use. Its not terribly time consuming, there are many websites that lay out the deals every week for you and which sections of the newspaper to find the coupons in. HOWEVER, the deal was she got all the coupons together and made a list and I had to go out and do the shopping. Nothing like turning in your balls for the day and holding up a line with 30 coupons for tampons and whatnot.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

kinda ontopic if anyone orders food online (ie. dominoes) you can often google coupons for it and find codes to put in there while ordering.

We get free breadsticks or cinnasticks all the time that way lol.

Based on the items that most extreme couponers buy, could save the time and sweat and just buy from Walmart. "Stacking" is the only way to make extreme couponing profitable. And a lot of stores are starting to figure this out and not allow it. This shit don't work in Canada.

It hasn't ever worked in most stores in the US either.
