    Xbox 360 issues

Hmk. I don't play the xbox, my gf does. All she does is play call of duty and we watch netflix on it from time to time.

I bought it in January, it is used and has the smallest HDD available. Yesterday morning my gf woke up and went straight to the xbox like usual. She started playing cod and about 30min in the game freezes and she restarts it. Upon restarting it, she is prompted with "disc is unreadable please clean it with some bullshit or visit xbox.fuck"

Kso I use google and spend about 7hours trying everything:

I've taken it apart and cleaned the lens.
I've used the paper in the disc drive while it's running (what? this sounded so stupid I was actually angry while trying it)
Tried setting it up on its side risking laser burn since it's an older model xbox360 (the original) (no laser burn)
I reset settings to factory default.
    Erased the HDD

Here are my objectives. We're trying to install COD to the HDD so she can just run it from there since occasionally the disc is read (but not playable). I'm not sure why she never did this, the first time I bought it with kinect sports I insta installed the game.

The times it does read it (after letting it sit for 1-2hours) I load it up and start trying to install COD at 40-45% (everytime) I get the unreadable error. This is both with mine cod and my friend's cod.

    Solutions left to try:

    Buy new drive for xbox.
    Flash current drive in xbox.

Any feedback or suggestions from BGtech?

Possible solution thought. Using a data transfer cable would it be possible to transfer my buddy's COD from his HDD onto mine and just use my disc to run it since the disc WILL load on the dashboard occasionally.

i have the same issue with my xbox but it doesn't sound as bad. blackops every hour or so will crash and give me the disc unreadable error. i just go to dashboard and restart and no problems until it crashes again.

disc is in nearly perfect condition as it hasnt left my system since nov not sure wtf is up with it.

I don't have an answer to your problem Altwight but I want to say mine does the same thing. From day 1 of owning Blops I've had the "unable to read disc". It's the only game that does it to me. I usually just open the drive and try again and it works. A few times it has crashed but will start again once I turn off the system. I have some dvds that have decent scratches on them that don't give any problems. This may be something you just have to put up with unless it's 100% unplayable. Best of luck to you.

I might be wrong but I don't think you can transfer actual game installs using the transfer functionality, just saved files/DLC/etc. I know my game installs were the only things that didn't carry over when I changed to a new HDD.

Can always just get your friend to install it using his 360, then give you the HD back. Doesn't solve your busted 360 of course but you may be able to play the game at least.

I had a similar problem with my 360s twice, is that the one you have or the original white 360?
