They all drop a the same type of rare. Fun fact, this includes maps.

Wouldn't mind them dropping a bunch of Decimator Bows. Alas, none of the boots were usable since they weren't DEX/EVA type.
If the mods are decent (movespeed, life, 2+ res) on the boots, then the base doesn't really matter. You will want to wear them. Don't limit yourself to just dex/eva stuff because it fits an archetype. The main downside for wearing off-archetype gear in most cases is that it is harder to get off-color sockets, like green sockets on heavy armor. Then again, you should have more chromatic orbs than you know what to do with by the end of normal, so getting sockets right isn't a big concern.
Failing that, if the mods are really bitchin', you can sell them if you have premium stash tabs. I've been making currency hand-over-fist getting things that are useless to my build but seem good for others.
Also, if you don't have it yet: Loot Filter

It's incredible.
I haven't dropped any money into the game, so I know nothing about selling stuff. Nor have I bothered with trading since I hated that in D2. Granted, I have thought about dropping for an extra tab, but that's probably it. Think I'm just waiting to see how well the endgame treats me since I technically still have a long way to go to "finish" my build.
And I got a loot filter going a bit back. Definitely been handy when you consider how much absolute garbage drops.
Necrooooo. I woke up Sunday and was fiending for some ARPG action closer to D2 than D3, so I dove back into PoE. Last time I played seriously was in Warbands when I took two characters to ~85 and was in mid-tier mapping. Currently LV 40 (Prophecy temp league) in A4 angling towards an interesting LA Marauder build with Reach eventually. Anyone else still play?
I'll play for a month or two in a new league. Can't wait for 2.4 with the endgame overhaul.
I was so hard into this game. Then it kinda died for me when I kept dying in high end maps due to lag. It's a little bit of an intensive game and being a solo player (I have no friendsQQ) it got frustrating. There's going to be an overhaul? God damnit, I might have to check it out again lol
If i remember right, 2.4 is an end game overhaul scheduled for sometime in September. then 3.0 is tentatively scheduled for Jan/Feb 2017 with act 5. I think thats what Chris said on the state of exile podcast.
If the difficulty from A3 to A4 continues linearly, A5 Merc is going to be ridiculous. I remember my first time progressing from A3 to A4 in PoE, expecting to cruise along like the three previous acts, and suddenly getting completely fucking routed by Piety 2.0 red spinning firebeams and again by Malachai. Again, this was my first playthrough, but even now, A4 merc is just skipped by 90% of players.
I haven't played since before Ascension because my PC now is a potato, and I can't justify upgrading it these days. 3.0 will probably motivate me to spend some money to be able to play again.
Actually, anyone know if PoE can be run off an external HD? While my computer can't play it, I live within a 3 minute walk of half a dozen internet cafes. I would probably being ok spending like $.60/hr to play casually a couple times a week.
Also another thing that has been mentioned with the addition of new acts, while this is probably years away, getting rid of cruel dificulty and eventually only a single dificulty that from act1 to act X will bring you to 1-70ish and map ready. Which would be pretty cool.
Although this is pretty much the only game I've played that I enjoy leveling in. I generally get 3-4 characters to 85 and 1 or 2 past 90 per league i play.
Nice. I could bypass Steam and just install the stand-alone client on an external drive, then lug it to whatever internet cafe I want. Shit... now I'm going to spend a couple hours looking at SSDs
What is the info on the 2.4overhaul? Is there something to read about it?
Not yet. They are doing a press tour this week. Which means they hit up a bunch of the west coast based games media people and give each a little bit of gameplay and info. So we will have details in the next week or so.
LV65 in Proph; just burned through A3 and am about to start mapping. Trying to round out a few last equip pieces before re-speccing into this:

Having a great time; really like this game.
Did they make builds less reliant on uniques that are incredibly hard to get? I remember when I got a soul taker a long time ago, when it was OP AF and it sorta ruined the game for me since I knew I wouldn't be able to do it again in another league. I had a lot of fun with ranger though, tornado shot was super sweet. I might start up and play some again and just take it slow.
I don't have a ton of perspective, but there are plenty of cheap builds that work well. That one I linked is really cheap to start, has the most hax single target DPS ever (Ice Wall is bork), and the most expensive item is the Reach bow (few EX), but you don't need it. In past leagues I've done Cyclone MRD and Reave RNG and got into the mid-80s doing pretty well for less than an EX. I only do cheap builds because I am not going to grind crap for 100 hours before even being able to play the build. Just don't choose something that requires a Mjolner or crazy 6L to even start and you should be fine.
