I didn't transfer yet but I do want that shiny thing. CAN I STILL GET THE SHINY THING?
I didn't transfer yet but I do want that shiny thing. CAN I STILL GET THE SHINY THING?
Good news.
Thank god. I really didn't want to switch over yet.
I'm curious as to how people are reading the last line. Is it reoccuring billing options via Crysta? Or reoccuring billing options via direct payment?
And also no, not too little too late. Everyone, here especially, was saying hold out until the last minute and see if they fix their mistake.
It doesn't matter in the sense of I don't care how they do it as long as it automated, but if it's going to be direct payment via crysta, I'd go ahead and swap and just put the minimum on my account until the exact payments are offered. If it's direct payement without crysta then I'll abstain until it's available.
Hurray, good old money talks. I was actually hoping for SE to see the decline after september 1st and then by the 8th of september still not see an increase in users, then maybe thinking they need to adjust the payment options.
Now you say? Little more details would have been nice then.- New credit card payment options for Crysta [Available Now]
Can somebody explain to me how copy-paste from JP site will take 1-2 months? Assuming mid fall means october.- The ability to specify exactly how much Crysta you want to buy [Early Fall]
- New recurring payment credit card options [Mid Fall]
Ah, gotcha. I'm not sure of the answer yet, as (like last time) I don't have my token here at work to log into the system and see what's available.
The one post I read somewhere seemed to indicate that the direct CC option was to buy Crysta, not to directly pay for the FFXI service itself. The SE post would indicate that as well. If I'm not mistaken, the JP could choose CC as a direct payment option for the service, which would mean that we aren't getting exactly what the JPs are getting, but it would eventually be functionally equivalent.
They did add a pseudo-direct way to buy Crysta, via Playspan. This option still didn't work for me, but perhaps it will for other people. When I chose South Korea as my location, it also brought up something called "Dao Pay", but that way charged double the amount ($200 for $100 worth of Crysta...).
Awesome, hopefully it will act like any normal monthly CC billing system (aka what they have now).
Glad I wasnt a sucker and didnt transfer early.
Free mules and another mog sack would ensure everyone migrates. ;/Also in the days to come we'll reveal details for new offers and incentives to help ease your transition to the new system.
Not surprised to see them planning to take awhile implementing some sanity into the system. Taking payments is something you don't want to fuck up, at all.
I'm hoping the incentives include a lower monthly fee if you pay for several months at once with Crysta, around the world. That would make me more willing to keep using WebMoney, rather than fighting for the region change they are teasing me with in the transfer FAQ, and then making unusable.
Apparently I need someone in Japan to help me talk support into unlinking my POL ID from my JP SE ID, so I can relink to my NA SE ID, and then I have to fight NA support to enable the link since JP POL IDs stopped being able to link to non-JP SE IDs a few weeks ago after a few importers did it (you get a "try again later" generic server error, but it never goes away). I'd rather just be able to directly use my VISA card again, and not have to deal with WebMoney anymore, like before early 2009.
I bet Europe is getting screwed, again.
I keep finding myself suprised that so many people are having problems with this new billing, but in reality I think xbox live desensitized me to this type of bullshit. Not only did they already perfect the system of charging more to purchase things than they cost by limiting the incremental purchases you can make, but they raised subscription prices AND wont let you play itunes downloads in their music player. Those bastards already busted me out so bad that this SE crap was like throwing a hot dog down a hallway!
Holy shit! yay!!
Agreed.
Yep kudos to "complaining" (and/or constructive feedback, either way it works). Just like Blizzard changed their minds with RealID, SE did with this too. So victory to the consumers! This just shows that you shouldn't just accept what companies do and you shouldn't feel powerless to do anything.
I know this may seem obvious but from time to time I occasionally see those who say it's pointless to try to change a company's mind and they should just accept it (not really on these forums but I see it more often on other forums).
This shows it's not "always" true (that companies will do whatever they want) and it's definitely possible to change something (it helps when you have hundreds to thousands of people trying to change something of course).
So if you did the transfer you're fucked and wont be able to play after this month ends if you dont have crysta in your account?
I'm sure when they saw what a small % of players have actually transferred it dramatically influenced their decision
