I felt the quake while I was sitting around playing Deus Ex. But, it was so small I thought it was just my dog thumping the floor with his leg while he was scratching himself. We had another one a while ago that actually shook my house and my first instinct was to sit there and go "oh shit" till it was over.
Almost happened exactly like that today, though the quake probably did make it a few seconds ahead of the first Facebook post I saw. I had just felt it here in Columbia, MD, picked up my phone, looked at FB, and saw a post from someone in Falls Church, VA. Waited about 10 seconds, hit refresh and then saw Northeastern Pennslyvannia posts starts to pop on.
Its odd, but you could probably use my Facebook feed and back solve the propogation speed of an earthquake wave.
Just wanted to say
well played, Day
Felt this heading to my next class in Buies Creek Nc
I was sleeping, but everyone around here says they felt it as well. How fucking far down the country did it go? I'm all the way down in S.C.
Me and my father in law were helping my brother in law demo his house about 25mins outside of Baltimore today when earthquake hit. Didn't even notice it till people called us up and we were like "huh? really?" With all the crap falling from the ceilings and us slamming shit with sledge hammers, nothing seemed out of place lol.
Building in Midtown Manhattan shook a bit. I was on the 10th floor. It really wasn't anything.
People panicked, started mentioning 9/11, everyone got sent home early. I went to the bar...
Felt it a bit north of Boston... is this a big enough deal I can start rioting?
Then again they showed some video of shit getting rocked in Raleigh, like 30miles north of me, so idk wtf. Guess it skipped the little poophole I live in.
Welcome to the club, the lot of you.
Maybe I should stop adding BGers to my facebook
Hayyyy. I was there in 89' thank you.
The streetlights in front of my house fell down while I sat in the middle of my front yard in '89. Was awesome.
