I was in my pool when it happened. The earth itself shook. When it was finally safe to return inside, I discovered there was something very wrong.

I had left a bottle of red Gatorade open, and it spilled all over my white carpet. It took over an hour to clean up.

The spot where the spill happened STILL isn't dry yet.

Late to the party, but that was my first quake too. I thought my stepbrother was being a douche and shaking the couch but I looked at him and he asked if I was doing it. After checking out the house for sinkholes, we realized it was an earthquake.

Did it travel south or west any? If not, I wonder why it just went straight northish.

[Edit: I was in my house, in my office leaned up against my wall watching something on Netflix. I think it was the Hal Sparks comedy special, and the wall started shaking me. For a while I thought the spirit of Michael J. Fox was giving me a hug then I realized he's still alive, then I thought it was my cousin with PS, and I realized he's still alive too, then I thought I'm going to hell so I ran out of the house. Shaking seemed like it went on for a minute but it was probably 20-30 seconds that I felt it max.]

Didn't feel anything down in Tampa.

But...I thought that there were no tectonic fault lines on the east coast for us to even get earthquakes? Has anyone found an article on what the source was? Do we have a super volcano trying to break through the middle of our plates?

I don't think that was a solid earthquake at all...



I think that's the last significant one I experienced. We're definitely overdue. You midwesterners/eastcoasters best appreciate your baby tremor.
