Where can I get updated Altana Viewer lists for the September update? Or does anyone know where the Coruscanti glow effect is located at?
if it possible to get crit dmg+6 dagger from dominion tactician, or just crates?
nvm answered my own
Newb DNC here. Besides climactic rudras>rudra's whenever NFR is up, what's the optimal/normal/standard/whatever step+flourish rotation? Playing around solo I found building 4-5 FM and waiting for Reverse to be up for each tp cycle to be worth it considering the damage rudra > evisceration > darkness does.
Rudra's over Pyrrhic for making darkness?
Is wild flourish worth using if you ever end up with only 2 FM and 100+ TP? The ~30% damage form transfixion (when doing evis) seems a pretty decent boost, but I suppose not as much as waiting for step timer and making a lv3. Thoughts?
Any uses for Striking and Ternary Flourish?
I did the same except in Bostaunieux Oubliette just fight for about an hour then AFK the entire night, I was never kicked.
Yeah, I saw that thread. It's more focused on pinning down the formula for recast times. From that I'm assuming casting time behaves the same, but there's nothing solid on how Light Arts (reduces casting time) and Spellcasting Time -% work together. Common sense would have things like Cure Spellcasting Time -12%, Light Affinity: Casting Time -12%, and Light Arts' -10% Casting Time all added together before applying Fast Cast's reduction. I'm not sure if there is a way to accurately test it in game. Would fraps in an empty zone with a whole bunch of recasts be enough to figure it out? Or is there a better testing method available?
* Unless you have AM2 or 3 up, I'd use Rudra's over Pyrrhic for Darkness. If you're using a Daka, I'd stick with PK for non-CF Rudra's.
* Wild Flourish is mostly something I use as a Dynamis proc, but yes there are times that call for it. 2FM Building isn't going to increase your WS damage by as much as the skillchain would add, so it's better to use Wild than Building. The downside is mostly that Wild's recast is so long, so you're delaying your next Reverse by using it sometimes. Now, there are plenty of times (ie. almost anywhere) that a full out WS -> Reverse -> WS is just overkill. That's another situation where you could use it. I also sure don't let the skillchain property go to waste in Dynamis if I have TP when I spam it. Extra damage is extra damage.
* There are no uses for Striking or Ternary Flourish.
Hardest question for last:
* If you were fighting a brick wall with 100% Step Hit Rate, the "optimal" step + Flourish rotation would basically be:
Presto -> Feather -> Box -> WS -> Reverse -> WS
-> Presto -> Box -> Feather -> WS -> Reverse -> WS
-> Presto -> Box -> Feather -> WS -> Reverse -> WS
etc.
That said, there's only one assault in the game where you literally fight a wall. Situations change, monsters have different amounts of HP, you trigger things at different %HPs, and you have to adapt. Unless you're fighting something with a lot of HP, you shouldn't just uniformly use Reverse. Dancer is currently mostly good at slaughtering EP monsters, so HP totals are a pretty big issue.
I just use a STR/Atk Kila +3 offhand in Dynamis, eat meat, and demolish crap with Dancing Edge. Reverse is up? Good deal, two Dancing Edges do totally predictable damage and kill any trash monster with a self-skillchain. Darkness can kiss my ass. I'm tired of missing Rudra's.
probably been answered 1 billion times, but can macs run FFXI + windower + Clipper? at least windower?
Works in Boot Camp, haven't had much luck with Wine and such.
Hmmm lag was exactly what i was trying to get rid off >.>, guess i'll just dump money on new processor and more ram
What's the general balance of power Mandau vs. Twashtar?
I meant bit, not big; and at times I don't notice it much. Kind of depends on where you are from what I have noticed, and if there is a ton of shit around you. I always lag in FC partys/PJ/WG. Most the time I just play bootcamp though.
Oh and I'm also running windower, clipper, xiclaim (all x2), if that helps.
Mystery Boxes: Windurst, does it affect the Maze of Shakhrami? I don't run around slaughtering low level mobs enough to be able to tell the difference in casket drop rates. I went 1/39 getting a fucking casket prowess in Outer Horutoto (that's one out of thirty-nine active prowesses, mind you), so my motivation to go through that shit again is nonexistent.
Nope. Don't work in any dungeons iirc
