Random Question Thread XXIII: Neun und Neunzig Luft RQs

when i broke ninja out again when abyssea started up, i always meant to go back and do DM for a suppa (yes yes i know loldrk, etc). i never bothered because ninja or mnk tank is already an I WIN button for 90%+ of the abyssea content, but i'm OCD and my ghetto halfass ninja is starting to bother me.

i did all the quest prerequisites already, but don't really want to bother my friends to do this. is DM dual-boxable, ninja or pld + whm or rdm mule? thanks ~

Grab PLD/WHM person with Ochain, have him solo shield everything while you assist him in rushing them one by one. Can pull far away from the arena so the BLM doesn't follow you as well-- fight the PLD chick second to last (before the BLM) and hope doesn't one shot him or her with Spirits Within.

Alternatively you could lowman it with 2-3 people as long as they are all NINs or THFs and can each solo a mob. Rush the BLM at the get go. Because of the wyvern and random jug pet I don't think DM is very soloable unless it's an Ochain guy.

@_@ Damn, ok doods! The lowman should be ok. I've done DM 5 people npnp. Have one evasion dood hold BST and pet, the other 4 can all beat up the other guys slowly (after rushing the BLM!), maintaining a level of caution on the SAM guy and the PLD chick. Very cake and pies, yay for lvl 90 evasion stats.

Did SAM, SAM, NIN, NIN, WHM, everything got blown the fuck up.

4-hit /SAM, 5-hit any sub. If you don't mind the Acc loss, you can swap the feet and out for Gules, and macro a Impulse -> Goading Belt per shot for 4 hit on any sub. Zha'Go's Barbut is nice for the Snapshot as well, but we both know Bastok in the past will never be taking over shit on our server, lol. Do believe the Frac +2 can be swapped in for Triple Attack JA as well, then swapped out.

May be dumb question, but it's been bugging me for a while:

For Drakesbane (or really any weaponskill that's covered by both items): is there a difference between Light Belt and Flame Belt? What about Light and Flame Gorgets?

Wiki says they're the same, but it's always weirded me out that Light/Dark cover so many more WSs at seemingly no trade-off.

I don't think Bastok need to control anything for SCNM to be available.

DM probably can be soloed by a BST too (might need some reraises). I never tried but I cant believe you wont be able to throw pet in and finish 1-2 mobs before it die then call beast again and kill one more probably etc. Even if you die in the process it should be easy with 1 or 2 reraises.

No difference at all, same fTP bonus, same acc bonus. Since it was released back in the days, you had the benefit of covering more WSes if you could suffer getting a second Aern Organ and other organs BS.

What you mean by many WS covered by light/dark? Beside relic/empyrean WSes they cover same or smaller amount than other ones. Shadow belt cover only Gravitation and Compression and empyrean/relic WS with Darkness properties.

You dont need influence in an area to do SCNM, just need to kill the nms and collect the 100% droprate boxes and give to a npc.

One BST should be enough and Elvaan doing spirit withing w/o being attacked is like 1% probably and its not exactly a full wipe even if it use it. Just kill Elvaan on the end.

You completely confusing things. SCNM is BCNM type thing for which you need to gather 8 triggers from NMs in strongholds and it has nothing to do which City dominate any region ( and zha'go comes from quadav SCNM). Roundel earring is an special OP quest which require city domination over all regions on their side including stronghold.

I understand his question but I'm not sure why he thinks shadow belt/gorget cover more then every other belt/gorget. For example Soil cover very similar or higher number.
