MNK kills Cara way faster, just for the sake of knowledge. Smite/Ukko's do roughly the same damage, so it comes down to the rest of the damage dealt and MNK easily wins there.

NIN+WHM or THF+WHM can kill Cara fine, it'll just take awhile. I forget what phase it is, but one of them can be a pain and can easily kill you. I think it's either BLM or whatever does breakga->BLM. Tornado/TornadoII/ hurt

We had brd and corsair, so I somehow doubt that the disparity is all that much. Whichever mode is the one that dispels>Tornado 2 is quite a pain in the ass. Easily 1 shotted w/o dispel even with 3.2k HP.

Winter dispells 1 buff and changes him to blackmage mode, keep shadows up and reapply shell if it got dispelled. the only danger is aeroga 3 which a curebomb will fix right up. Summer gives it a very high regain which can be dispelled/stolen by a thief (10tp/tick) and switches it to War mode where it gains access to the tp move... Cyclonic Flourish i think its called? which deals moderate damage and dispells all buffs. Watch out for breakga/silencega/paralyga/graviga in rdm mode (Spring)
Spring - rdm, sleeps everyone nearby when used
Summer - war - gains regain (dispel!) also heals 1 status ailment when used, uses cyclonic flourishythingie in this mode
Winter - blm - aoe dispels 1 attribute, if its shell reapply quick as an aeroga3 may be on the way
Autumn - whm - gains regen (dispelable), and just buffs itself/heals itself, safest of the 4

Edit: i personally made macros for each season, spring -> cure 1 on tank, summer -> dispel and reapply paralyze, winter -> reapply shell/haste, autumn -> dispel

The only thing that ever killed me as a taru thf was if it dispelled my shell and before the whm could reapply tornado II'd me while I was unable to cast utsesmi for some reason like it had just petrified, silenced, or stunned me. But yeah usually all that didn't happen together

Question regarding paladin and Aeolian Edge. Had a friend return to the game and start anew and was considering trying to PL him to 90 fast with Aeolian Edge farm on PLD/RDM. I've only return a few weeks ago myself, however, so am rather limited on gear and atmas still.

My questions are:
1) Atmas for Aeolian Edge farm on PLD? (Gales? What else?)
2) What type of gear would I need to do this well?
3) Mandies in Altepa the best bet or something else?

I've been using AaO/RR/Apoc, but I'm building a pop set for Eccentric Eve since I believe VV/RR/Apoc is ideal.

okay, so you get to keep Abyssite forever right? once you get it you keep it forever? and all the effects from all the abysites you have stack? or is there some invisible limit?
And atma you infuse with Lunar Abysite, but only 1 atma to a lunar abysite? meaning if you get all 3 lunar, 3 max atma at the same time?
And do you always keep your atma, even if you infused one, then replaced it with another?

Keep them forever, unless they're a Demilune Abyssite (VNM pop). They all stack. 1 Atma/Lunar. 3 Max. You keep Atma forever, think of the NPC as equipping them. I.E. If you swap a staff, you don't lose the staff you take off, it's just in your inventory.

Hmm , balance of dot vs aedge ws dmg? Could try apoc/RR/gales, or maybe gales/apoc/ baying moon/ultimate/smithing blow (not sure which of those wins by far ). I would definitely keep apoc/gales/?? and fit one of them in.

MAB gear mostly, martial knife if you could find, artemis medal, moldy earring, hecate earring or novio, int rings if no mab rings, torque/belt elemental ones

Could do that, but tbh if you really wanna fast burn him up, maybe best just dolls pty all the way, dominion exp isn't that bad. I mean if you gear pld/war and zerg dolls (just simple vorpal with rr/vv/apoc should work) , it likely be faster. Or if you feel lazy and wanna leech, just make an exp pty for dolls and make ppl work for u!

Are there any low man strats for Early Bird Catches the Wyrm out there? Seems to be the least info one, managed to get the other 2 done for bb items, just gotta hit that dragon now.

RR only affects SAM on TPing phase and probably seigan counter/jump, but not WS
I usually use apoc/VV/Smiting Blow for TP bonus+100. But if you're using keitonotachi +2 with TP bonus+100, then probably RR is better.

How can I stop the controller affecting FFXI when the game isnt in focus? Trying to play on the Wii emulator and it keeps moving me in XI while its in the background.... I'm afraid I might end up accidentally discarding items if I don't pay attention lol.
