So according to ffxiclopedia reaving wind gives -100% tp to mob and another -25% with correlation factor. Is there any chance that's right because it feels horribly wrong based on all the times I've used it.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing the testing method was to feed a mob 100-300 TP via spell spam, Charm, /pettpp, Release, Reaving Wind, Charm, /pettpp. At least, I HOPE that's the way they determined it. If it is, then I don't see how it could be wrong unless the effect can be partially resisted or something stupid like that. It's never really been that easy to eyeball how much TP a mob has as they supposedly TP at a random value between 100% and 300% when they're above 25% HP, and then every 100% when they're lower.
Theorycraft: If you're using Reaving Wind and similar spells in the field, then perhaps the mobs are getting to 200+ TP before you use it and then when they're TP changes (Perhaps by the spell itself, but more likely from hitting/being hit) then it rolls again to see if it's gonna use a TP move.
I've always felt that those moves were under-utilized. I wonder how they would do on high level NMs. On stuff with super dangerous TP moves, maybe a BLU or 2 rotating all the TP reducing moves could make the fights a lot less complicated.
Oh I'm aware of all that. It's just I actually have spent some time spamming it and doing some basic guessimations on tp feed I should've stopped all tp moves if it was 100% but ended up barely even decreasing them. Granted this was all nms so idk. Just seems like 100% is awfully huge amount and asking to be broken lol.
Being ffxiclopedia I somehow doubt the method you described is anywhere near the amount of effort people put in. I mean this is the site that had the wrong stat mods (forget amount just wrong stat) for some mythic ws until recently and almost all the 300ish skill ones for months. Also I thought being released from charm killed your tp. Or is that just players
Any advice on leveling ninjutsu magic? Currently sitting on 206 skill.
Spam the Ni: wheel on exp crap like dolls in altepa.
I'm lvling it thru tanking. Somehow I can still land the inhibit tp debuff everytime with like 160 skill lol.
Where are some safe camps in dynamis windy/bastok w/ the usual JA proc mobs?
Any point in getting an Annihilator with an Armageddon and Gandiva? My job spread doesn't really allow me any better relic options.
If you only WANT to play Ranged jobs, then that's cool, but in this age of FFXI, not having other jobs leveled isn't a valid reason for anything. You can have any job to 90 in 2-3 days with only moderate effort.
That actually brings to mind a rant that I've been meaning to give that's unrelated to your post: Why the fuck do people not level useful jobs for the content that they want to do? I fucking rage at assholes in PJ that shout for seals asking for every single role necessary for getting seals while they come on their fucking DRG or some shit. Why should people help this asshole get seals when he isn't going to provide a single useful service for obtaining said seals? Ugh. /rant
Fucking double post... I didn't even hit the goddamn button twice.
Anyone have an idea why my 2nd character would freeze up when changing jobs at a nomad moogle, but works fine in a mog house? I run both characters on the same machine with windower.
Also, often when using Nightingale and Troubadour and casting 4 songs the 2nd set of songs don't always fully take. Example: double march > double ballad often ends up as 1 march, 1 ballad. Any ideas?
Songs won't overwrite a song with a longer duration. If you sing a song with a lower +song instrument too soon after one with a higher +song effect, its not going to overwrite. Use of Tenuto should let you get the effect you want.
Presuming I have an Oneiros Ring (I dont), I'm curious on consensus:
Is it worth changing to 10/12 MP merits to keep latent on the ring active?
If you had all melee jobs to cap and wanted to really deck out 1 job (barring mythic) which would it be and why?
If my hp wasn't so sucky and I didn't hate farming in tahrongi canyon it'd be war. Mostly just due to the raw dmg output they can do in rather short periods of time. Once you decide to kill something it's generally dead by the time blood rage wears. Or you are lol. Maybe drk. With the LR update and relic update they can do tons of dmg while keeping themselves healed with cata with all that haste...
