I've searched my inventory like a madman. I remember grabbing one and tossing it awhile back when doing my vnms for gandiva. =/

Edit: /sigh turns out my inv. was full... fuck you rdm gear and taking all my space.... Yup i am an asshole (thanks benjix haha)

Need some advice in regards to gear/clear/atma/etc priorities. I recently returned to the game along with two other friends after a seven year break and we all started new characters. Spent the last few weeks leveling, getting fame, skilling up, getting some more gil, that type of stuff in preparation for gearing up and doing aby. Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly what is the "best" order for us to do stuff at this point.

Our class distribution right now is nin90/thf90/pld90/rdm71 (soon to be rdm90, mainly to help war cap skills

), war90/dnc90/whm90, and whm90 (joined us only about 2 weeks ago and will be leveling blm soon for proccing purposes). Both nin90 and war90 have all WS procs and we have a friend that can join us as blu90 with Discernment on occasion to help out. We have managed to get RR, VV, and Minikin Atmas and some random lesser ones. Only La Theine has been cleared by all of us and pretty much nothing else asides from XP has been completed in aby. RotZ and CoP have just barely been started, but are priorities for the rings and earrings. As it stands now, we have 0 AF3 gear, but have a few random seals. No completed magian trial weapons of note, but empy NMs for kannagi and ukon are in progress.

My question is, asides from leeching from empy-geared people, what is in your opinion a good order of priorities for us to complete things from this point that allow us to smoothly catch up? Should we focus on trying to get a few more key atmas (GH, SS, Allure)? Focus on zone clears? Go ahead and stomp RotZ and CoP for those items? We'd really prefer to complete this stuff as our own group instead of just joining randoms, but aren't entirely against the idea if it's seriously save time and hastle.

Is it normal for the update to get stuck at 7% on the first file (patch.txt), without any errors showing up? The progress just stops.

Is that a problem with too many people trying to download, or something else, such as with my connection?

using ffxi-util to dual box, did the update with one character. Logging in with the other characters requires the update again. is this normal?

really dont want to update for 3 hours on the other one too....

Don't even need Movement, duo'd Gessho and just straight tanked it on Rdm.

Okay so I just got a new gaming rig and I wanted to set up FFXI with maximum graphical settings... however I have no idea what I'm doing. I know Windower basically does it for you but I still don't know what to do, and there's a guide on ffxiclopedia but I wasn't sure if the guide was legit w/ windower? Can anyone direct me to a nub guide or something? Thanks.

You can use http://www.ffxicalculator.com/ to pretty much do it all for you. Run as administrator and go to the FFXI Settings tab. Select Highest Quality and away you go.

Iirc 7 stat rings are actually kinda cheap right now. Cheaper than 6 stat rings lol. Though getting 6 dex ring from quest is pretty easy and can net you seals. Plus you might get that mythical 6 att augment on it.

Cheers for the info, I guess I'll stick to Demon Rings on Thf and Int on Rdm. Could prolly just use full nuke set on rdm I guess.
As for the cost it really depends on the ring on Asura, like I think Dex ones are around 500k, but AGI ones (which I'll soon need for Cor) are around a mil.

Okay, I'm still having problems downloading the update.

90% of the time, it gets stuck, with no progress, at the "Downloading the latest version's information" section, and no error message appears, either.

The other 10%, it finishes the first part, finishes the second part, but gets stuck on the very first file of the 3rd part (patch.txt), still with no error message, just being forever stuck at 7%. I've already downloaded and copied over the direct download from this site, so there's only 12 files to download, but that doesn't help me if I can't even get the first one downloaded.

I've tried with two different internet connections, with the same results both times, and I've also tried temporarily deactivating my firewall.

Is this just a problem with congestion, or is there something deeper at fault?
