I'm having some trouble skilling up. I expect it to be slow, but what can I expect in terms of how long it's going to take? I'm SAM/WAR at the moment. Should I take off what little +acc gear I have? Any suggestions? I'm new to the melee game.

Stack haste, DA, whatever nets you hits faster. March/haste would be awesome. OAT works great as well (soboro) if you have it on hand.

You can spam "only the best" quest in selbina. It raises both sandy/bastok fame, so you can cap jeuno pretty quick.

I really wish I did have a Soboro on hand. I could always camp it. But, in the long run, the +haste would be a more reasonable path to take than camping for a Soboro. I mean, once I get a Masamune, will there be much worth in having a Soboro? SAM was one of three jobs I leveled in '09 before the game went the way it is now, so I don't have a terrible amount of skilling up to do, 225 - cap at the moment. How long do you think that would take in a Misraeux Coast[A] party?

Do you have a RDM or SCH mule? I levelled staff and parrying (didnt cap, just wanted cataclysm) by casting phalanx and tanking mandies (in attohwa) using counter+ atma (hell's guardian, gnarled horn, acc+) worked pretty well.

with all of those mandies hitting you you're gonna counter many times more than you can normally swing (for me anyway)

k so I use Atmacite of Destruction on my Wildfire RNG (lol) and I popped Mana Powder to help the WHMs in my party with MP and I realized I couldn't drop that MP anymore so was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to drain my MP on RNG?

Assuming 15/20/25 critrate bonus at 100/200/300 TP, it's a decent inv+1 piece that will cover capped and uncapped cRatio well. Centaurus tends to outperform it by a very small margin.

For atma while skilling up, you should grab apoc(for TA) and maybe 2x regen atma. That way you can easily just engage and go read a book while skilling up. If you can get soboro, then 3x regen atma and you can easily AFK while whacking something.

How do I make spellcast or autoexec spam waltz on myself at certain HP thresholds, or will it even doing that?
i.e. I want it to use waltz III when my HP dips below 85%

autoexec event would be hpp_85 i would create a seperate .xml for it because leaving it on fulltime can get messy

I understand that, but that's not addressing the problem.

I'd have to test it, but I'd imagine its like all other exec's and you need to specify the who's HP% -

I haven't used this one before so this might be wrong, I cant test till I get home.
With the above idealy you'd have spellcast firing off on the waltz, so you wouldn't have to exec a .txt file in the same line. if you had to though, you could.

but it might -not- always fire. thats again, assuming I've got the trigger condition for the hpp right.

Thanks for the advice, didn't work but I'll figure something out eventually.

Edit: Nvm, something started working. I guess it only wanted to start after my hp increased above the amount specified then dropped below it.
