Yeap. That pretty much sums it up. I was going to be a high school teacher, and realized I would get bored and want to bitch slap kids. So, I took a complete 180 and got out of the education program. My degrees are more or less just stating, hey that kid went to college, and works hard. Nothing else. It's the equivalent of having a "business" degree anymore. It just shows you went to school.

To be fair, shore pizza is delicious, but I was mostly referencing Philadelphia food. Which is wonderful.

Also, not moving to Phoenix for the Coyotes. That's silly. No one like the Coyotes. It's having sports in the area that is kind of important. I couldn't imagine not being able to go see live ice hockey.

I have two bachelor's. One in Writing Arts with a minor in Journalism/concentration in Creative Writing, second degree is in English. Graduated with honors, blah blah. As far as work experience, I've been an operations manager, a bar manager and a technical support specialist the past seven years. Job title and duties changed with the season, but I've had a lot of responsibility and done a lot of work in all areas. Marketing, HR, Management, etc. We didn't have specific areas, I kind of was just responsible for everything from hiring/training to payroll to scheduling and dealing with media and sponsors.
Journalism major here, what kind of practical internship experience do you have? What kind of marketing did you do? I transitioned easily from journalism to entry-level Marketing at a software company. Writing well (succinct and readable) is a highly desired skill. Broadcast writing really helped me transition to marketing writing, surprisingly.

I'd reiterate selling everything you can't fit into the vehicles you're taking out there and rebuying at your new location over renting or buying a truck for the move.

To address the moving part of it...

I don't know if you'd want to drive cross country, but... If you don't mind it, you could. Like others have said, you should sell crap you can easily rebuy or cannot fit into your car. When I moved from MI -> CA, my husband and I used U-Haul trailers, which are a bit cheaper. We have a Honda Accord, but it was able to haul a 5x8 trailer from MI-> CA and a 5x10 trailer from CA -> WA. Trailers are much cheaper than an actual one-way truck. If I remember correctly, from MI-> CA with a 5x8 trailer, the trailer was about $600-800? We had sold most of our furniture (couch, dining table, etc) on Craigslist and used that cash money for gas and hotel rooms along the way. It's quite do-able to drive if you can pace yourself or have someone to drive with you.
