Cat 1 is still better than they were saying earlier, the papers on Friday were all saying it could be the first cat 2 hurricane to ever hit NJ. Really the only major issue is going to be how long the power is out... NJ and NYC actually have really good drainage systems for the most part and people know how to deal with downed trees and shit. I don't think this is gonna be a walk in the park, but I'm doubting it'll be catastrophic like some people are acting. I'd be surprised if this was anything close to Katrina

Its not so much the Cat 1 winds that we care about here. Its the 10~20' of rain they are forecasting alongside the storm serge. I am two blocks north of the evacuation area of Long Island. we got around 10inc of rain two weeks back with some crazy rain over the last week as well. its not going to take strong winds to put anything down in the week state we are in now(power lines are all above ground here)

EX of how bad it could be: two weeks back with that 10inc of rain we got, my brothers block had around 10 houses that all had floods. The worst had 250k worth of water damage done. Again the winds are not the big thing for us on Long island(NJ I have no clue about) its going to be the crazy rainfall again.

Got my laptop/phone(both lol) Gameboy DS/ EEE pad/kindal all charged for a few days of no power.

My fing job is open till midnight as well, and im going to be there till 12AM Sunday morning.
