Milk and cookies son. Laugh in the face of Irene while you dunk them Oreos yo!
I was doing precisely that during lunch today. Some of those new triple/double stuffed homg.
For those familiar with CT transit, they may be (probably) completely shutting down the Merrit/Wilbur Cross Parkway (Rt 15)
Starbucks was open. Score. Some state of emergency.
Can't wait for work tomorrow, today was uneventful.
We only do 8s here now, works out well. So I'm only 9-5 although I believe thats when we'll have the worst of it. Used to do 12s and 24s but now its 8s.
I was simple today. Grande iced mocha latte. Usually if I want hot I get a tall triple soy latte.
I've seen milk go bad in as little as a day. Even if your worst case scenario is 2-3 day outage it could still go bad. And even if it lasts its just milk, its not exactly "important" like water, medical supplies, batteries/lights, etc. I dunno, honestly the store being cleaned of of every Granola or similar type food bar made the most sense even if i didn't think of that myself.
Home from work. The front of my bed bath and beyond is boarded up like its abandoned lol.
I bought chocolate milk and cookies.... Why not? Gonna be on the internet/couch/reading for like 12 hours. My fucking starbucks was closed but it's probably for the best. I don't need to be all cracked on caffeine today.
rain has been on and off all day today in nj about 30 miles west of nyc
this storm is fucking lame, im glad i got drunk last night and not today
local news:
this is the jersey shore house, and as you can see there's no snooki here but definitely a situation.
guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh
Ahhh here is the "ass fucking holy shit rain" i have been waiting for
My department has been double staffed since 8pm last night and is going to continue through Sunday. As far as the wind speed thing, we were told that 45-60 mph we would not be responding to routine calls, and emergency call would be at the departments discretion. 60 mph and above, we respond to nothing.
Hasn't been too bad here, lots of power lines and a few big trees down. Lots of gas leaks, and small electrical fires. Also, a couple people hit by falling trees, most outside a couple while in their houses.
