There was a tornado sighting near great adventure, and 2-3 in barnegat moving towards chatsworth. atlantic county supposedly had 2-3 as well. At least 5 confirmed/sightings I believe, but all fizzled out and werent much of anything anyway. This was all prior to midnight. there are over 7000 people in toms river alone without power, and JCP&L stated before the storm that if you do lose power expect 24-72hrs without it. There are basically no traffic lights working in most areas, no street lights, nothing. The roads are full of branches, trees, power lines, telephone poles, etc. It is scary as shit driving down the road, completely black with shit all over the roads even during the calmer parts of the storm. We are nowhere near the worst of it.
Supposedly most of 35, at least from ortley to wake has been covered by the bay, and the bay was inching towards the ocean. Good chance of them meeting at some point when the storm picks up (wildwood surge is evidence of this). The barrier island is pretty much going to be underwater. That was several hours ago when 35 disappeared. The worst of it is no where even close yet, winds picking up, still a cat1 so good change of 75-80 sustained winds with gusts of 100 to come. The tail end after the eye should be the worst part.
Expect more tornado watches, expect actual touchdowns. Bunker down, its going to get worse for NJ. I am NOT looking forward to work at 9am in lakewood. Going to be a fucking mess with all of the trees in that shithole.
