How far could the storm surge come inland along the southeast coast? When I was in Florida it seemed like a hurricane could push water all the way across the state and dump it in the gulf. It was extremely flat...

My mom called me today because I'm supposed to be flying into the city this weekend from buffalo and shes like, omg change your flight because the hurricane is coming. Weather channel reporting it's still technically going to be a cat2 hurricane when it reaches long island but there's no guarantee it even follows that path up the coast. Oh well.
